It is a very serviceable vinyl mattress protector that fits deep mattresses. As with all vinyl mattress protectors, you need to put a good mattress pad on top of it; and with a mattress pad you won't notice that you are sleeping on top of a sheet of vinyl. From experience with other similar protectors, I expect it to last two or three years before it gets hard and starts ripping.

Mattresses are breeding grounds for dust mites and after many years of use they get pretty funky. Although the internal springs and padding may wear out and sag, a vinyl mattress pad keeps the mattress cover clean and it keeps the dust mites away. Although dust mites could get into the mattress from below, the mattress protector keeps dead skin out of the mattress, and dust mites only have interest in mattresses that contain dead skin. Lately, I have heard of people having problems with bed bugs; I think that a mattress protector will also keep them out, or at least away from you.

A good, heavy, mattress pad is necessary if you use a vinyl mattress protector; it protects the vinyl from damage and it isolates you from the vinyl. A mattress pad absorbs perspiration and breathes, making the bed much more comfortable both in summer and winter. A mattress pad has to be washed occasionally because it will hold dead skin and dust mites will be attracted to it; washing it in hot water will remove the dead skin and will kill and remove any dust mites that may have found their way into it. I wash my mattress pad in hot water with chlorine bleach about once a month.

Would have preferred a zippered mattress cover on account of me being a restless sleeper and worrying about the blankets and sheets coming off the mattress, but that has not been a worry. I think this has led to my bed not breathing the same way, and me getting hotter at points through the night, but it also doesn't help that we're tweaking the A/C to get the right temperature for us.

This was purchased because we have an older puppy would love to disappear and pee on our bed. It has happened twice, and both times before we were about to actually go to sleep. Don't mind washing the blankets, but the mattress needs to be protected! I have looked at some of the other and more expensive sheets and I just don't think they would be right unless the issue was addressed immediately. While you get some added noise to the bed, because it's vinyl, not cloth, it's not that bad. It's not like putting plastic sheets or bags on top of the mattress.

We're hoping that the dog quits it as she matures. However, in the off chance she pushes past the gate and runs upstairs to piss on our bed, we're prepared. Bring it, mutt. Seriously though, for the price, this thing is perfect.

The cover is excellent. We did put a matress pad on top for comfort and that worked well. I do not have to worry about my puppy having an accident on the bed anymore. The product is very high quailty and fits the deep matress well.

Stays put on a pillow top mattress, even with tossing turning. I have bought many mattress covers over the years and I must stress that the six guage is much nicer and will hold up with kids and pets. The ones in the store that you might see cheaper are flimsy and tear easily.
