This pillow arrived looking exactly like the picture--except it is much smaller than I expected. It is so small that I nearly returned it, because it looked like it was made for a small child! So if you're looking for a substantial neck pillow, keep looking, because this pillow is not it.The longest side of the pillow is approximately 8.75" across, the narrowest part of the pillow is a little under 6" across, and the thickness of the pillow is between 2.25 and 2.5 inches thick.
That said, I'm glad I didn't return it, because it helped keep me comfortable on some recent flights I took. It turns out I didn't need a larger pillow to support my neck after all (however, I realize that individual builds and personal preferences vary, and there may be many people who need or would prefer a larger pillow). I like traveling with it because of its small size and vibrating massage feature. The pillow's butterfly/bone shape seems especially well-suited for use as a neck support. Just know: it really is tiny.
Oh, and if you do plan to use this pillow's vibration feature, I highly recommend using batteries designed for cameras and other high-drain devices. (I ran through two new standard alkaline batteries in less than 2 hours). It uses 2 AA batteries.
