First few minutes laying on it, I thought for sure it wasn't going to work. The slight crunching noise, and firmness compared to my old pillow were what turned me off initially. However, I noticed almost instantly how much support my neck had and how it seemed to intuitively conform to my head. Ended up passing out, and for the first night in weeks I didn't wake up in the middle of the night. Thought it was a coincidence, but for the past week I've been sleeping MUCH better at night. Just came back for a second one because my husband is jealous and wants his own now.
Only con's I've found was a slight "earthy" smell that more than likely was attributed to the buckwheat. I let it run in the dryer on refresh with steam for 10 minutes and it was gone. Also, there were a few random hulls floating around the bag it came packaged in, but when you see how tiny they are in person I think that was inevitable. Haven't had any leakage since. This is a zippered pillow, so should you need to add more hulls or remove some, it can be done. I haven't needed to do either, but I figure should I need to do so in the future, it's nice to have the option there.Pros:
-feels great: because, like a beanbag, it conforms to the shape of your head and shoulders
-the buckwheat hulls do mean a cooler sleep (in my case, not a completely cool sleep, but at least the pillow allows some of the heat to escape away, not hold it all against me to form a bowl of noggin sweat soup).
-the cover feels strong, and the zipper tough enough to hold everything in (pillow case recommended)
Cons:
-this pillow is not very pretty. Because it's half-filled with loose buckwheat hulls, it doesn't retain any shape like a regular pillow.
-it's a bugger to work with, in terms of trying to get it into a pillow case or even just move it around: it's heavy, and gravity does what it does best.
-it's loud when you move it around or punch it into shape
But those things are okay, and I'm still giving it a 5-star review, because it's just the physics of the thing, and I'd read enough about these pillows to expect all of that.
Protips: if you let it hang and get all the hulls in one end, then fold the empty case underneath, it's firmer and better-looking, but for me at least it's then uncomfortably high; also, this would be wicked cool in a pillow fight, if there were no rules and you had no sense of fairness.

Wow! Great service, on time, wonderful product, incredible price! This pillow is a dream to sleep on. It replaced one that got wet (thanks to our new puppy!), and it is even better than the one it replaces-bigger, packed just a little tighter, and supports my neck even more fully.
Look no further, because this company delivers in detail.Wow! I always have trouble finding the right pillow and go through pillows, even the expensive ones every couple months. I love, love, love this pillow! The filling can be arranged however to make the pillow fully support your neck and I even wrap mine around my shoulder so I can lean. It is a little hard, and has a pleasant noise of the buckwheat shifting when you move, but that doesn't bother me. Fully recommend you try this pillow.I have been considering buying a buckwheat pillow for some time. The good reviews and the fact it came in king size was a selling factor for me. Being 100% organic was important to me too. I couldn't be more pleased with this pillow. It has relieved the neck and shoulder discomfort I was experiencing almost every morning. I am still getting used to the crackling sound when I roll over, but it's not really that bad. Just different at first.
