New Model Year Intex Queen Raised Downy Airbed Air Mattress

I am very satisfied with this air bed. I bought it for my lake house. We're not moving the permanent furniture into the house until after some updating. This has been a great temporary bed. The first night it lost a little air but not bad. I added more air and it hasn't lost air since ... and it's been 2 weeks. It's comfortable and the height makes it much easier to get out of than the single air mattress. I would recommend this bed.

I would actually rate at 4 1/2 stars, because it's great but not perfect. I've slept on one every night for 10 weeks, and my observations are:

Fitted sheets don't fit there's no place to tuck them in. It doesn't matter. The flocked top will immobilize anything short of something as slippery as silk. It looks a little strange because the bottom sheet reaches lower than it should, but it works.

It does leak, slowly. The built-in pump will both inflate and deflate, and the valve for selecting between them is a little hokey. Be sure to fully rotate the selector to the extreme, because a little off will cause a faster leak. It will still lose air, through the valve is my guess. That doesn't matter either, because you can top off this bed in 2-3 seconds, and what you need to do so is built right into the mattress. I have to add a little air after about 4 weeks of daily use.

I would not only recommend them, I've already decided to buy a non-raised version as a replacement for the conventional mattress in our travel trailer. It's comfortable, convenient, and light-weight.

A nice feature of these airbeds (which I have not yet used) is that they will deflate as quickly as they inflate. They have to be an ideal solution for surprise overnight visitors.

I bought this bed after having two bad experiences with another brand (Aerobed). I thought with a higher price and good reputation those beds would have been good but I had bad luck with both and decided to look at some of the lesser priced beds. Intex was another good brand and this model was about $40 less than the previous brands so I thought I'd give it a try.

So far it has been good and I use it full time, just one person. The only drawback to this bed is the top is too 'ridged' for my comfort. The channels are too distinct and were not comfortable to sleep on. I added a pillow top and now it's perfect. I wish the cord for the air compressor was a bit longer and it tells you not to connect it to and extension cord so I have to drag it across the room when I need to top it off but that's okay because I only have to add air for about 30 seconds every ten days or so.

Another plus about this bed is it actually came with a small repair kit in case it springs a leak, the higher priced one didn't and of course it sprung an unfindable leak after about three months.

Fitted sheets don't fit well on it because of the way the layers are designed but I found once I had the pillow top on the sheet would fit much better and can now be used since the foam gives a bit of grip and it pulls down snug to the divider indent of the two layers. If not for the pillow top I would have to use a flat sheet so be aware of that fact.

Overall, I'm very impressed for what I got for the price and there really is no need to spend that extra money for a 'better' brand when this one seems just fine.

UPDATE: I've now been using this for six weeks and it's developed a 'lump' that runs the length of the mattress from the channels 'collapsing' making only one side of it usable. Amazon won't allow me to return it even after less than two months. So I'll search for a better brand again and NOT purchase it here. Poor return policy, Amazon.

We ordered one and then another for a summer stay in CA. Great heigth, very comfortable, but we developed a leak. We patched the leak and so far it is holding, but very disappointed in having to repair.

This product deserves an A. I purchased this air mattress to travel with when I visit family and friends and it truly has served the purpose. I love the carrying bag that comes with it. The air mattress is easy to tote and stow away after use. The built-in air pump is a really nice feature too. The only added feature I would like on this product is the option to use the built-in pump by battery. It inflates within minutes. The mattress also has a great high to it and is very comfortable. So far, I haven't had any problems with air seeping out or deflating on its own, which is good news!
