I have had nothing but trouble trying to assemble a perfect set of this bedding. I initially ordered 2 king shams, the 20" pillow, and the king coverlet from an expensive dept store in another state. When I received it, the coverlet and one of the shams had a strong odor. The coverlet smelled like a cross between smelly socks and wet hay, while the sham just smelled of some chemical. I laid them out in a spare room for about 3 weeks to no avail. The decorative pillow also smelled -of dirty feathers. I bought an allergy free pillow protector and placed the feather insert in that, then put it back in the case. This helped a lot, but it still smells. I will probably have to throw out the insert, and replace it with a better quality product. After about a month I called up my salesperson at the expensive dept store to complain. She offered to sell me another coverlet and the only remaining king sham she had. When I received these, the new coverlet smelled just as bad as the first one, but had a different smell -this time like insecticide. After laying out for 3 weeks it still had an odor that could be detected from the doorway of the room. The new pillowsham didn't smell, so I kept it. After returning both coverlets and the one smelly sham, I inspected the remaining shams more closely, and discovered that there was about a one inch wide swath down the middle of one of them where the quilted stitching was missing! Meanwhile I had ordered yet another coverlet from Amazon, that smelled much less than the first 2. So now I had only one good sham and one coverlet. I ordered 2 more shams from a different local dept store. One is a totally different shade of purple, and much shinier, and the other is the right color and fabric, but the stitching is totally flat, with no quilted effect! So...I have now ordered 2 more shams, and am waiting to see if they are any good! so far I have had 5 in my possession, but only one that matches the color of the coverlet, and has no smells or flaws.
Natori needs to implement some quality control measures. I started all this process in April and it is now Mid-July, and I still don't have a matching bedding set! This would be a very pretty set if you could actually get pieces that had no flaws. If you are determined to buy it, I suggest you order 3 to 4 times as many pieces as you need, and MAYBE you will get enough good pieces to make a set.
