So it definitely works well for it's intended purpose. It does not, however, work well as a mattress pad. It simply doesn't really offer any additional cushioning.
And I found that it simply does not work well with my foam bed. The mattress pad has a tendency to creep throughout the night, causing both it and the fitted sheet over it to bunch up rather easily. This happens even when it is placed directly on the foam bed. I suspect that this is because the fitted sections of the mattress pad are made of spandex, which doesn't really work well at keeping the pad in place.
I have not tried this on a traditional mattress, but I suspect that it wouldn't be as much of a problem with one.Well it definitely works... As I understand it the material first absorbs your body heatwhy it feels cool to the touch at first. Note it does not STAY cool it merely comes to your body temperature and then maintains it...like a thermostat!
That way if you get hotter due to too much cheap wine during dinner, it will absorb the excess heat you throw off and keep you "cool". So really it acts to Stabilize your body temperature rather than acting as a refridgerator.
The pad is adequately stuffed and definitely fits on a king size even with 17" depth due to the stretchy elastic corner pockets. It does move after a night but so far I haven't felt it bunching uncomfortably under me during the night.
So whether you like cheap wine or have a sleeping companion(wife or dog) who is an oven, you will be CHILLIN and perhaps even able to save a little on the AC bill!!!

When you first touch the mattress pad, it is cool... just like any other pad. But when you lie on it for awhile, it accumulates your body heat and radiates it back to you... just like any other pad. It also bunches up and pulls my sheet up with it. I guess I'll give it one star because it's soft... but I'm still moving around the bed each night looking for new cool spots and this was an expensive experiment to find one.Read Best Reviews of Sleep Better Iso-Cool 11-ounce Quilted Mattress Pad Here
I am a 55 year old woman, and have been a "hot sleeper" most of my life. It was always manageable, but got worse after I hit the mid-century mark. So I was very excited to try this mattress pad, thinking that if it did the job, my long-term dilemma would be finally resolved. I also ordered the Iso-Cool pillows.I noticed that the padding was quite thick, and the spandex sides were very thin, but it went over my deep mattress very easily. I tried it for 2 nights only both nights with the same results. Getting into bed, yes, it is very cool...in fact, wonderfully cool. But give it a short period of time, and not only does the coolness dissipate, but it actually seemed to start to heat up. I woke woke up both nights laying on what I thought was an incubator pad. Of course, I could try and move to a fresh, cool spot...but that was not the point of getting this. Also, the spandex sides don't really hold the pad in place well, so it was getting all bunched up with my bottom sheet. I was super bummed, and returned it.
On a positive note, the Iso-Cool pillows are decent. The cooling fabric is on one side, and the other is regular, giving you the option to flip to what you need. They don't stay cool though, all night long...but at least they don't seem to radiate the heat back. They also are shaped nicely, for a side sleeper.

I bought one of these for my Tempurpedic, hoping to mitigate some of the ungodly heat that radiates up. No dice. This product is bogus and it also stinks from off-gassing. Don't waste your money.
