Buckwheat Pillow - ComfySleep

Buckwheat Pillow - ComfySleepLike many other reviewers, I have spent many years trying to find the "perfect pillow". I am not sure it actually can be found but this buckwheat pillow comes very close. This is not my first one, however. I bought a good quality one back in the 90's and liked it but was lost during a move. Since then I have tried various memory foam pillows of various designs--they were o.k, but I still continued my search. My chiropractor suggested the "water pillow", but after reading reviews of that pillow, I wasn't so sure. At that point, I remembered the Asian buckwheat pillow from the past. I looked on Amazon and found one made by "ComfySleep that I thought would work--and it was made in the U.S.A. by a small company. I have had the pillow for a little while now and must say it is about as "perfect" for me as I have been able to find. I am usually a "side" sleeper and this pillow provides the best support of any pillow I have ever used. The quality of the pillow is first rate and the size is just a bit larger than the usual Asian buckwheat pillow--which I like. Best of all, I have not been waking each morning with the neck pain that I had in the past--in itself a reason to buy the pillow. All-in-all a great buy. These pillows are now made in larger sizes by some companies, but for me the original 15" X 22" by ComfySleep is perfect--not too big nor too small.

After experiencing off and on neck pain for the past year (that was rapidly becoming more "constant" than "off and on"), and trying all sorts of remedies (chiropractic, neck stretches, inversion therapy, and more), I came across a recommendation for buckwheat husk pillows. I read the reviews on ComfyComfy's pillow and placed an order hopeful, yet skeptical that it would be the panacea I was looking for. After the first night, I woke up for the first time in months without significant pain. Three nights in, and my neck pain has diminished, not entirely, but almost and not just upon waking, but throughout the day. I couldn't be happier with my pillow! Also, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is top notch from this small, made-in-the-USA manufacturer. Kudos on this excellent product!

I have been searching for a new pillow for a long time now. I stumbled upon this product, which seemed to be out of luck, and from what I read it sounded like a good buy. Shipping was super fast and the pillow is very well made. I am able to sleep without waking up throughout the night to constantly fluff my pillow. I wont lie, depending on how you shape the pillow it can be pretty hard, but all you need to do is move the husks around until it is nice and comfortable and fits you.

I have no idea how people can use today's pillows. Virtually every pillow available in stores today, is a block of foam or a sack of fluff. My head rolls off one, and the other cannot support the weight. What happened to real pillows?

It turns out, they have always been there, just not in the stores. Buckwheat pillows are fantastic! They give your head support, while keeping relatively cool in the summer. That is what they are; a very simple item.

Now for what they aren't. Buckwheat does have a slight odor in the beginning. It should not be a problem for most people.

It is not like concrete, as some reviewers have exaggerated. If you are used to having your head sink down to the bed, then this will be a change for you. It is called support.

They are not perfectly quiet. Having an ear on it, you will hear sound as the buck wheat hulls move around. Again, this has been exaggerated by a few reviewers.

The bottom line is, if you have been looking for a pillow that cradles your head, and actually keeps it off the bed, then look no further. The Japanese have always had the answer.

The first thing I noticed about these pillows is that they are very well made and HEAVY. The stitching, fabric, and even the label all showed a lot of quality and attention to detail. They aren't big and soft (they aren't supposed to be) but they are remarkably supportive and that's why they're the best pillows I've ever owned. You won't get that immediate satisfaction you do when you lay on some fluffy, puffy, spine-contorting pillow but you will sleep better and wake up with shoulders and a neck that are looser and more relaxed. I've owned these for 6 months now and they look as great as they did on the first day.

The seller is also remarkably nice, which is always a bonus.
