**Update** Three years later, and still loving this topper. No significant compression, even though we don't turn it more than a couple times a year. We did buy a separate mattress pad to cover it, though, since it's easy to get hot with this under you. Still highly recommended.**I bought this topper after doing a lot of online research to replace an old, tired memory foam mattress topper we'd used for years. This foam is noticeably denser, and the four-inch depth is perfect for both me and my husband. The foam returns to its original shape fairly quickly, so you don't have to worry too much about rolling back into a cavern if you move around. My husband and I also don't notice if the other one moves around a lot on sleepless nights, since this topper effectively neutralizes all vibration.
The worst part about this pad is that it does add four inches to your mattress of course, so make sure your sheets and mattress cover can accommodate. Oh, and it's far too hard to get out of bed in the morning, since it's so comfortable -but I can live with that.
yes i would recamend this item.I have had this mattress over 2 years now. I bought this originally to go on top of our pillow top mattress that we paid 1700.00 for. My back was hurting every morning and I was looking for relief. I noticed a difference, we were sleeping better in the beginning. But our old mattress was sagging in the middle and no matter how many times we turned it over, upside down we could get no relief. First we got rid of the box springs and placed the mattress and memory foam on top of a plat form that we had built. I was still having back problems. I took our expensive mattress off and laid the 3inch Memory Foam Topper on the wood. I remember my husband and I standing there laughing at it cause it was so thin compared to what we were used to sleeping on. That was the best thing I ever did. I did go buy a 2 inch topper to go on top from Kohls cause I could feel the wood a little bit under me. But that is all we sleep on, 5 inches of foam. My friends laugh but when they lay on it they cant get over how comfortable it is. Next time I am going to try purchasing the 4 or 5 inch Foam Mattress. My kids say when I do they want mine. The only problem is the sheet don't fit as snug as I would like them too. Someone needs to come up with a set of sheet to fit 5 inch mattresses. I went to stay at a friends house, I rolled up my bed, tied it with some balers twine to hold it, threw it in my van and opened it up on their floor. My bed goes with me and I love it. The best purchase I every made and it didn't cost 1/4 of what our pillow top mattress did. I highly recommend this to anybody that wants a good night sleep.
