Bought this as a present for my wife's birthday and was very dissapointed in the quality of the product. The light was so loose and broken that you could pull it out of the lap desk with just a touch of your finger which then exposed all the wiring. The light was broken and didn't work and the bottom was only half way filled with beads so there was barely any padding between your lap and the desk itself. Very uncomfortable. I returned it and only received half of my shipping costs. In the end after returning the item I was in over 7 dollars and have no product to show for it. The next lap desk I buy will be from the store so I can open the box and look at it and not have to worry about shipping it back.

What a disappointment! This item arrived today and as noted by a previous reviewer, the light flops around and it does not work. I struggled to remove two of the three batteries each time I tried a new set of batteries. The item itself is cheaply made...literally a piece of stryrofoam sitting on styro beads in a flimsy pile sleeve. And it is ugly to boot.

This is a great little lap desk. Very lightweight. And the built-in light is nice and bright and very easy to aim.

Somewhat disapointed with this product. I ordered this product without reading reviews (my bad). Item arrived and didn't look to bad for the price. The light was cheap looking , floppy and was DOA after trying 2 new sets of 3 AA batteries to be sure , not 2 AA batteries as advertised. I repackaged , and returned it to Amazon. This item can only be returned for refund, no exchanges. This means up to month to wait on your refund after they receive item back. I then reordered. I liked the little desk as I wanted to have it as a buffer from the heat from my laptop. I tried a couple of laptop fans , but they where noisy and my computer slid around to much. Thus I reordered and paid for another unit, hoping for the best , well you know the old adage "Hope in One Hand..." the second unit came with a non working lamp too, most likely the same ones other reviewers sent back! Anyway I decided to keep this one and use it without the light unit which I removed. It is comfortable to use and sturdy enough for its purpose, and I like the cup holder. I have mixed feelings on this product, maybe they would be wise to offer it without the light and drop the price a few dollars, I think then they would get much better reviews.

Received the desk and returned it immediately. The light did not work; it was nearly impossible to remove the batteries; the light flopped around and came unattached while trying to place batteries.
