Things to be aware of:
1. Do the research and find out what factors go into how well a foam mattress or mattress topper supports you. This is very important. The Cloud9 manufacturer web site has a good overview of how you should determine what density and thickness of mattress is right for you at . There are other sources of advice on the Internet if you search for them.
2. Basically, the manufacturer indicates that the density (3.4/4.3/5.3) and the thickness of the topper should be considered in combination. If you weigh more than 250lbs you probably ought to be looking at the four inch topper for the extra support and pressure point relief. The 5.3 density will make that support firmer and you won't sink into the topper quite so much. If you weigh less you might achieve the same results with a thinner topper, and get away with a less dense one also if you like a softer feel.
2. Bear in mind that a four inch topper will add that much to the height of the mattress. You may need to get some new bedding.
3. This product is stinky to start with. It smells, well, rubbery, and needs a good bit of airing to get rid of it. I found Febreeze helped as well. A water proof mattress cover might help also. The smell does wear off eventually.
4. The vendor charges a fifteen percent disposal fee if you return the product within thirty days. I considered this an adequate risk and found I did not need to use the service. My memory foam mattress topper started falling apart, so I wanted to get a new one. It was a 3" thick, 4 lb. memory foam that did not have any mattress protector. It lasted a good 6 1/2 years, but it had seen better days.
In looking for a new mattress topper, I came across memory foam that ranged from really cheap to insanely expensive. I found the Cloud 9 memory foam on Amazon and did the research. The short version is that Cloud 9 is a very good product. I bought the 4" thick, 5.3 lb. memory foam so it would last longer and we would get a "floating" feeling while laying on it. It is definitely denser than my previous memory foam, but it is not as hard as a rock. I have a Select Comfort bed (without a mattress topper), so I have been playing around with the settings this week. I would definitely recommend this topper.
I ordered it on Dec. 31st and it arrived on January 6th. It comes in a fairly small box, but the mattress is vacuumed wrapped to minimize space. Once it is out of the wrapping, it takes a few minutes to expand to the full thickness. One word of caution, there is a significant amount of off gassing when you first unwrap the mattress. I put the mattress in a bedroom, with the window open, ceiling fan on, and a fan blowing out the window for a couple of days to decrease the smell. I also got the concentrated Frebreaze and sprayed the top side. I flipped the mattress once in the morning and once at night, spraying the febreeze each time. If you have an ozone air purifier, that is supposed to work well also.
We have had the new mattress topper on the bed for a few days now and we love it.

I ordered this 4 inch mattress topper on 2/6 and it was delivered to my house on 2/12/10. I was amazed at how fast it arrived. It was a king size and actually a full 4 inches deep. Unlike the ones you buy at Costco that say they are 3 inches and they only expand to 2 inches and the density isn't as good. Word to the wise, pay the extra money for this Cloud9 and you'll be happy. It pays to get the higher density and 4 inches. The Costco one only lasted 3 years and seemed to shrink in length after 2 years. The Cloud9 actually covers the whole mattress. No shortage in size. I had my boyfriend carry the 47# box up the stairs and we opened the box on top of the mattress. Unfolded the foam topper and cut off the plastic wrap. Made it easier to handle this way. No heavy lifting of the foam mattress onto the bed. It unfolded right away and opened to a full 4 inches deep. We are now letting it air out because of the smell. I expected it though. I'm going to use the Fabreze like the previous reviewer suggested before I sleep on it tonight.I mostly like the 4 inch foam mattress topper to make my old mattress deeper so the new sheets will fit better. My mattress is only 8 years old and in great condition. But it's one of the thinner old style ones. Since I can't buy sheets to fit just the mattress alone, the 4 inch foam topper helps to get the new sheets to fit without all the excess material and having to use the straps to hold them in place.
I may edit this review after I've slept on it tonight.
I recycled the old Costco foam topper. I cut it down to fit the twin bed in the guest room and I'll throw out the excess leftover piece. That's about all it's good for.
The only complaint I have is that it did not come with a cover. I would have preferred to have a cover over it to protect it. Of course I'll put the mattress pad on it, but I would have liked the extra protection on it.

After sleeping on this for a few weeks, I found that putting two (2) mattress covers on it will help with night sweats. Since the foam has a tendency to hold in your body heat. This took care of the problem of the product not having a cover for it. The fiber fill in the two mattress covers makes it really comfortable now. Like sleeping on a cloud of fluffiness.
