The first thing my pillow has to do is support my neck. The right side gives me grief, but this does well. It also cradles your head--once you get used to it, it's great. With a satin pillowcase on it, the Core has the added benefit of keeping your hair in place.
Hope this helps.Due to nighttime reflux, I frequently sleep on my back with the bed head elevated. Traditional pillows are not conducive to this arrangement and I was having increasing problems with neck and shoulder pain that reduced my sleep time per night to only 2-3 hours (ugh). Desperate, I did some research and found this pillow. It noted that it was suitable for back and side sleepers, and provided neck support in each position. I figured I would give it a try, as the cost was moderate. Unlike many pillows I've tried, it was immediately comfortable (and believe me, I've tried the gamut: air pellet pillows, memory foam pillows, pseudo-down pillows, etc.). The first night I used it, I slept more than 5 hours straight, and awoke with minimal neck discomfort. I thought this was a fluke, but night two with the Mid-Core Gentle pillow brought 6 hours of solid sleep! Now have had it for three weeks and I am still finding it comfortable and still sleeping much better. I am pleasantly surprised and pleased with the results of using this pillow.
Update: 1st pillow wore out in about a year...became soft and unsupportive...so I ordered another. This one is so much firmer than the first I have wondered if It really IS the "gentle" version. It kills my neck; has not become more pliant even after a month of use. Plus this new one is not filled uniformly around the center so to get a comfortable spot while on my side I have to flip it over and around from where I have it for back sleeping; a frustrating exercise if you don't stay in one position all night. In summary, good concept for a pillow, but inconsistent construction may make for a less-than-satisfactory nocturnal experience.

I've been having alot of neck issues, causing headaches, ringing in my ears, and some dizziness. I'm seeing a chiropractor and physical therapist, and both have told me I need to find the right pillow. I tried a few different sizes/firmnesses the last few months, but still had problems. Then my chiro suggested finding a pillow that had a "hole in the middle", so it would support my neck. After a little internet searching I found lots of options for this type of pillow, but decided on this particular one because of the size. I'm 5'4" and average, and this pillow is actually a really good fit on my neck! Each side is a little different, so you can find what is most comfortable for you. I've had it a week, and it only took about two days to get used to it, now I'm perfectly comfortable. And I haven't woken up with a cramped up neck since I started using it! It might need replaced in a couple years or less, but hey, I'll be spending alot less on pain killers, so I think it evens out.Want Core Products Mid-Core Gentle Fiber Neck Pillow Model # 222 Discount?
I have neck and shoulder pain for the past 9 years. Mostly along the right side of my neck. My neck feels like the cords are being pulled so tight it's difficult to more my neck. Over the years various doctors have said the reason is likely poor posture, too much computer work, too much knitting or ignoring me altogether. I have tried deep tissue massage which worked somewhat. Prior to getting this pillow I used the Sobakawa Cloud Pillow. I spent my nights slipping the Sobakawa under my neck, then tossing it aside to sleep without a pillow, then back to searching for the pillow again. I woke with neck pain and exhaustion. After the 1st night with my Mid Core Neck pillow my neck felt somewhat better I thought. This is day four and I have very little pain and my neck feels very relaxed. I keep turning my neck around and wait for that familiar tightening but it's barely noticeable. I no longer rub muscle pain ointment on my neck. I think this pillow is worth trying if you suffer from shoulder or neck pain.
