The pads fit nicely, and looked good. Could not feel them under sheets. So far have not tested their resistance to any kind of stain.

Haven't spilled anything on it yet, so cannot vouch for its ability to protect the mattress. However, it went on easily and is comfortable. I sleep hot, and this appears to breathe well and does not make me feel hotter. Also, it fits well and is quiet (i.e., unlike those plastic/rubber waterproof mattress covers which make it clear you are sleeping on a waterproof mattress cover). Definitely would recommend.
