Can't beat this for the price. The materials in this product are inexpensive, and there is a certain amount of pragmatism involved in its design, but there was also a lot of thought involved in the design, too. Little details, like a velcro fastener for the LED when not in use, standard batteries (instead of expensive watch batteries) for the LED, and a carrying handle. The small lip is great for holding most books, and the little LED light is a battery sipper, rather than a battery hog. Great if you read late, but your spouse does not (and doesn't want to see your reading light through her eyelids at night). The whole unit is very lightweight. LED neck is bendable for almost any angle you want. I used black nail-polish to paint the edges of the light, so they wouldn't shine in my eyes while I was reading in the dark, but that is just my personal OCD. I have a feeling it won't bother most people.
