Before I became pregnant, I was a back-sleeper. But I knew i had go start sleeping on my side and this pillow helped. Because my frame was so small, I didn't want a full body pillow, I literally wanted just a little wedge to tuck under my side. This pillow worked out perfectly: I'd just pull it snugly against my back and it was enough to keep me from rolling completely flat. Sometimes I'd wake up on the pillow but again, I was never flat.
After my son was born, I used this pillow to help me nurse and feed him by wedging it under my arm. I still have it and I highly recommend it if you don't want or need a full-body pregnancy pillow.
