The fabric covering is not sweaty or uncomfortable.
My best advice would be to use it in conjunction with a small airplane sized pillow to support the side of your head, since you can still move your head side to side probably too far to spend a whole night in comfort.

This product is a little different than the other travel "pillows" on the market. Because the collar supported my head in the front and on the sides, my head would not flop forward or sideways. This allowed me to completely relax my neck muscles and fall asleep within minutes. The Embrace Sleep Collar Travel Pillow is very light and easily fits into a carry-on bag. I highly recommend this product.Read Best Reviews of Embrace Sleep Collar Travel Pillow Here
Good idea, but the length is too short to hold my head up. Once my head starts tilting forward, the brace does not have the firmness to the head up. It just collapses, since it is foam. There is a small band of plastic that gives it some rigidity, but that band is only a couple inches tall.Want Embrace Sleep Collar Travel Pillow Discount?
Just got back from a trip with two 14-hour legs...I slept for a good 6 hours both ways thanks to the Embrace Sleep Collar. After trying nearly everything on the market (inflatable, non-inflatable, beans, buckwheat, you name it) this product is the one for me, and here's why I love it:--it has a very well-padded rigid plastic brace along the length of the collar that provides excellent support...keeps my neck absolutely straight during sleep.
--it has a removable cover that is washable AND the fabric does not make my neck sweat!
--it does up by way of Velro at the back of the neck...this results in a small gap that allows the back of my head to rest flat against the seat headrest comfortably...no more having my head thrust forward during sleep.
--the Velcro attachment is such that all of the Velcro is covered when fastened...no more collecting fuzz, hair, etc. in the loops.
--it rolls up into a small circle...I easily attached it to my purse strap or daypack...it weighs next to nothing and does not interfere with movement.
The Embrace measures 3" high, so if you are lucky enough to have a neck like a swan, it may not be high enough for you.
