After 5 washings and 7 weeks of continuous use, these sheets are still rough. It appears that the manufacturer achieves the high thread count by twisting together threads rather than by using individual threads. The company's service however was very good and they were great to work with to resolve a shipping problem.See Consumer Reports review of thread counts in which over 400 is not worthwhile.
