First, the "tan" sheets are really "chocolate" brown. The stripes are similar to how they are shown in the picture. When I first examined the texture of the sheets, I thought they felt scratchy. Only after washing them with fabric softener and a dryer sheet did they feel soft. After the first mentioned washing, these 1200 thread count sheets felt close to how our current one-year-old 450 thread count sheets feel, if that makes sense. Heat-wise, these sheets feel like they are warm to climb into, similar to how flannel sheets would feel but with a cotton feel. All in all they are good sheets, but I would never pay even half the suggested retail price. The sale price should stay. I like my 450 thread count sheets and I like these now that I have used them for over a week.
