Stretch Knit Polyester Bed Bug & Dust Mite Control Deep Pocket Mattress Protector

Unfortunately one of my tenants reported bedbugs and being (or trying to be) a very responsive landlord, I ordered this zip-up queen sized mattress protector/encasement (as well as a similar zippered box spring encasement) and along with a thorough steam cleaning and do-it-yourself professional grade pesticide treatment, the problem seems to have been solved. Luckily, I think the tenant was quick to report it, so we caught the problem early! Anyway, I don't really understand the negative reviews of this product which seems extremely well made and actually has a superior (lifetime) warranty, so I am giving it a full five stars!

This is a little too big for my mattress (which I swear measured 16 inches when I measured it). It causes air pockets to develop in the middle of the bed, and the sheets slide off the corners and we end up sleeping on the mattress protector. We don't have bed bugs, I got it mostly as a mattress protector and that seemed like a bonus. It does effectively protect the bed from liquid spills (we have a cat that likes to knock over bedside beverages). Maybe if we throw it in the dryer the next time we wash it it will help shrink it up a little?
