Leather Rocker Recliner

I bought this chair for my father who wanted a comfortable chair in his living room to sit and watch television. I picked this one from Amazon and the Leather Rocker Recliner is a delight. The rich brown leather is soft and gives a posh appearance. The headrest and the arm rest are padded with extra cushion that gives a relaxed feeling while sitting on it. The leather and polyurethane material is responsible for the softness of the recliner. There is a lever on the side that can adjust the recliner position. With 43 inch width the recliner is spacious and comfortable. The height is right and the depth is about 66 inches. It is definitely oversized but it is sure one comfortable chair.

After shopping around on Amazon for a recliner, for my father-in-law, I settled on this. The reason being is that other recliners in our price range, and Prime eligible (I had no interest in paying ~$150 shipping), were all listed as being a bit small. Other reviews suggested that this chair could accommodate a body-type of most sizes, and brotha, they weren't just whistling Dixie. This chair... is large. Not that that is a bad thing if you have the room. Conservatively, I would say that this could comfortably sit someone close to seven feet tall, and weighing upwards of 350 lbs. Don't take my word for it, though go the the specifications listed on the product.

Comfort: This is such a wonderfully comfortably chair. It reclines easily, and is so plush, that laying in it, you feel as though you sublimate into a soft, leather paradise.

Shipping: You might not have, like myself, ever ordered something so large from Amazon. You may be wondering how shipping goes. Quite easily, actually! Second day shipping is not realistic for this product, mind you it just won't go that fast but it goes quickly for something so large. For me, delivery was handled by a third-party freight handler. They called days ahead of time to coordinate delivery, and then again on the day-of, to let me know they were en route, so that I could drive home to sign for and accept it. They were quick, professional, and efficient.

Assembly: The chair comes in two parts the base and the back. The box is small enough to fit through most doors. Actually putting it together is as simple as lining up two metal tabs in the back with two slots on the base, and then clicking (seemingly irrecoverably) into place.

Quality: As noted previously, the leather is plush. It is not the poorly-treated, stiff leather you may associate with leather furniture. It's very soft, and very comfortable. Overall, the quality of the chair is great. It feels solid, and well-put-together. The recliner function goes smoothly. After a couple of months of usage, the chair is holding together very well.

I went to the name brand gallery and was close to spending $1100 on a new recliner. I decided to give this recliner available on Amazon a try. I'm glad I did. In the rocking mode this recliner makes no noise. My old name brand recliner creaked and squeaked constantly whether in rocker or recliner position. This chair is very comfortable with good support. I would give 5 stars, but I do find it takes a little too much effort when sitting up from the recliner. I could be doing wrong, but there was no manual included with chair other than the assembly of the back to the chair. As for the assembly Irecommend placing the chair so the back is up and horizontal. This allows easy viewing of the two attachment arms making alignment easy. Once aligned and with the back pushed down about 75% on the metal arms tilt the chair back to the normal position and press down on the back top until it clicks in place.

CEVA delivery that Amazon uses, was courteous and met their delivery window.

Overall very happy with the chair and would purchase another.

These chairs have 3 different positions; rocker, semi-reclined (feet up), and fully reclined. I have a problem with all 3 positions with this chair. As a rocker, sitting normally my feet don't touch the ground... I'm 6 foot, 190lbs and my feet don't even touch the ground for it to be useful as a rocker. In the semi-reclined position, the back doesn't have any strength to hold its position. As soon as I relax, the chair falls into fully reclined position, which makes the semi-reclined position worthless. In fully relined position, you're so reclined that the only thing you can use this position for is sleeping since you're staring at the ceiling.

I'm somewhat of a handy-man, so I flipped the chair over to see what modifications could be possible to correct these issues and I don't see any way to fix it. It's just an overall bad design as a multi-function chair. I do like the look, and big cushions, but it now just sits in the corner taking up space.

This recliner is really comfortable in a couple of positions, while rocking and while fully reclined. The back is a little short for me as well, but I'm 6'2". The seat area is really big though.

Other then being fully reclined and in the rocking position it doesn't adjust well for me. There is no way to adjust it either, it's not put together by nuts and bolts underneath. I will try and contact the manufacturer though, to see if there is any options though.

Overall I do like the recliner, just hoping there is still some modification that can be made on the reclining.

My only real problem was the CEVA shipping, they just dropped my package off at the sidewalk. There were two delivery men and they just asked if I had anyone helping me, after I said no they said okay and left me with a big box on the sidewalk.
