Organic Cotton/Kapok Pillows

I have a Naturepedic crib mattress and changing pad and love them both so when it came time to buy a toddler pillow, I was sure I would love a Naturepedic pillow. I wanted cotton, not PLA so I went with this one, not knowing anything about Kapok.

This pillow smelled very woodsy. It must be the Kapok because although I am sensitive to smells, I've never thought cotton had a smell to it. It is an all natural smell, so you may not mind it but I was not liking how my daughters whole head smelled a little musty when she woke up. Too barn-like for me. Maybe it just needs some time outside in the sun, but I just don't have time for pillow maintenance.

I am returning this and may try the PLA or another all cotton organic pillow.

This pillow is quite comfortable and well made. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is that it is spot clean only. I would have preferred machine washable. I wish the description had mentioned this detail.
