If you buy this pillow, the first time you take it out of the box, you'll think you've been had! If feels like a brick, and you'll wonder "who could sleep on this?" Well you will if you just try it once.

It's very dense foam, and when you lay down on it, for the first few seconds, you'll think "this won't work!" Give it a few minutes and your head will sink slowly down into its protective contours, it will make your spine stable and keep your neck in a good position. Once you get used to it, you can even lay on your side and the pillow still is comfortable.

I am very happy with this product, and my neck is so much less stiff. Keep an open mind and you'll fell better quickly.

Before this pillow I took 2 ibuprofen before bed. Now I take none. It is also great for tall people. It is smaller than regular pillows so you lay higher in the bed and your feet hang off the end less.

Carex! Seriously, this is a great product in that it worked wonders for me. I am over 60 yo and have been involved in 3 total loss car accidents. These and normal wear 'n tear have taken a toll on my poor neck. When I am awake, I can constantly do loosing exercises for the neck and have no problems. When I am sleeping, I cannot and can easily wake up sore and very tight in the neck area.

From the first night I used the Carex, it was as if I had gotten a fresh, 'new' neck when I woke up! Yup, that much of a difference. It has been about a week now and it is the same every morning. And, during the day, I seem to have to do less neck-loosing exercises.

This is a really good product. And, yes, it does have a slight, mild 'new' odor for the first few days....which the manufacturer warns you of....and which I did not find offensive. But you can put a pillow case over it at night and unzip it during the day.....it disappears in short order.

I've had this pillow for several months now and there are basically 2 things that I want to say about it:

First, the good news: Before I bought this item, I was experiencing some fairly severe pain in my neck from a fall. After sleeping on this pillow for just a couple of nights, the support it provided helped ease my neck pain entirely. I still use the pillow every night and now have no pain in my neck at all.

Secondly, the semi-bad news: When I first got the pillow, the foam had a very strong odor. It took a couple of weeks for the odor to completely dissipate. Because I did get considerable relief using it, I put up with the smell for longer than I normally would have. There is now no odor to the pillow at all.

If you can tolerate the odor for a brief period (many foam pillows have this same issue), this is a great pillow and a very good buy. The temporary smell is the only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. As to functionality, it is great and I highly recommend this product.

I pinched a nerve in my neck while lifting weights. I'm convinced that just sleeping on my back and using this pillow helped to fix the issue. The pain in my arm and neck started going away after I had been using the pillow for only a couple of days. After a couple of weeks of use I was able to drive in my car without causing a flare up.
