The reason why I got this alarm clock was because I needed a way to be able to wake up with ear plugs in. I have to wear ear plugs because my roommate snores like a California Bear in hibernation...he's an old guy. So I went to Amazon and bought the alarm clock in question. It finally arrived 2 weeks later which isn't amazons' fault it's just that I'm in Iraq. Either way here is my review:

(1) The clock portion and the wristband portion are not attached...its simply clips on. The first night I used it I woke up and if had fell off of the armband. To mitigate this I got some 5`50 cord and strapped it down.

(2) The alarm has two modes...vibrate and a traditional alarm sound...most of you are only interested in the vibrate mode. The vibrating alarm will wake you up but I would ensure you have a second alarm clock as a backup. For me I have been using an `alarm sound` for most of my life and my body knows it's time to get up when it hears the loud noise. The vibration does wake me up it's just so easy to roll over. NEVER USE THIS WHEN DRINKING THE NIGHT BEFORE....there's no way you'll wake up.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION:

For deployed troops, ensure you have a backup alarm clock, get some 5`50 cord, and this alarm will work. But you shouldn't have to do all of that...so this product gets a 2.

i got it because i'm the first one to get up in the morning and don't want to wake up my husband or baby at 5 am with a loud alarm. since my baby was born 2 yrs ago, i used to wake up like i0 times at night to look at the clock waiting for 5am so i wouldn't be late for work... this watch changed everything. now i can sleep all night knowing that i will not be late.

it's a bit large, but i wear it in my left hand and after a couple of minutes i don't even notice it. it vibrates strong enough with a light sound like your phone when it vibrates...more than enough to wake me up and only me.

yes i do recommend it, it's cheap and works great. i feel 5 yrs younger now that i can sleep all night!

I got this to keep from disturbing my wife, who has preternatural hearing, as my hearing is not that good. It works fine for me. The only drawback is that the plastic clip that holds the wristband snapped after about three weeks. I just tuck it under my pillow and it wakes me just fine. It's actually a bit clunky to wear on your wrist anyway.

This is such a good idea for couples who don't want to wake their spouse if rising earlier. The vibrator wakes you without disturbing your bedmate. However, the clip holding the unit to the strap is a weak point and it does break. That happened to us.

I say it could be better because the darn thing is unnecessarily complicated. A simple alarm that vibrates you awake would be great. This one has a stopwatch, and some other "day" thing I've never figured out. The worst of this is that the buttons, four of them, are exposed and can be altered during sleep! That has happened to us. It would have been so much better to recess or hide them beneath a flap.

Anyway, we do use it and it does a great job. It's just that it is not 100% reliable because of the aforementioned, so I often keep an eye on the clock around wake up time, unfortunately....

This thing is so HUGE ... if you use it on your wrist and your are a stomach sleeper you would not be able to place your arm under the pillow comfortably. I do not know why it had to be so BIG just get a small vibrating alarm watch.
