The cushion lets you sink in slightly, but gives excellent support, like a good pillowtop mattress. And unlike a lot of other memory foam products it doesn't get crushed quickly. I've used mine 5 days a week for 7 months now and the foam is just like it was brand new. The only thing that shows any wear is the strap, from being stretched for so long, and it looks like that will last at least a year before giving in.
If your chair is more than 17" wide, the strap won't fit, and if you're over 200 lbs, it won't be wide enough for your back. But if you're lucky enough to be average sized and have an average task chair, it's worth every penny!

Pillow is not good for someone who is 6 feet tall. It just doesn't hit my back in the right place. It is also quite narrow for me. My husband at 5'8" uses the pillow all the time, loves it.Read Best Reviews of HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover Here
I had great hopes for this pillow, but it is way too soft to give any support. I have MS and have constant bad lower back ache. I need a supportive pillow for driving. This is not it!Want HoMedics Ortho Therapy Lumbar Cushion Support Pillow with Velour Cover Discount?
I tend to spend most of my time watching TV, reading or working from home on the center of my couch, which happens to be a little too soft. After spending couple of hours everyday regularly for a few weeks, I started feeling some discomfort, and realized my back was sinking into the couch and wasn't getting enough support. Happened to see this in a store aisle and picked it on a whim. One of the best purchases ever.I am going to buy one more for my work chair, and probably send some back to my folks.
What's great:
Contoured memory foam provided just the right support
The foam warms up using your own body heat and then keeps your back warm while you sit (especially great in cold weather). Perfect for soothing or relieving any pain.
A strap if you want to strap it to a chair (haven't tried since I use this on my couch).
Machine-washable cover (must for neat-freaks like me).
Retained shape even after I bent it badly to fit it back into the cover after washing the cover (see below).
What could be better:
The removable washable cover isn't the easiest to remove and re-fit. They should re-design the zipper to be along the sides rather than one straight horizontal zipper through the center of the back. The first time I put in the pillow back into the cover, I thought I damaged the pillow because of having to bend it so much. Luckily, though, it retained its original shape (I have done this twice).
As some others mentioned, it could be a bit wider (or maybe sold in separate sizes) for bigger people.
