I would describe these as firm; however, firmness is very subjective. The 2 zones is an option that allows for more firmness in the neck region and a bit lesser firmness where your head lies, resulting in superior neck support; however, the company may offer other options. The pillows have a washable removable zippered cotton case. Before I discovered Organic Textiles, I searched for foam pillows, only to be disappointed in the plastic memory foam or lower priced thinner latex foam pillows.
