This mattress pad is quite thick.The elastic sides hold it snugly in place and come down all the way on a 14-inch deep mattress. The cushy pad fully covers the top of a queen size bed.
It's been washed once with no problems no shrinking or wear. It seemed too bulky for the dryer, so I laid it out to dry. I have the same pad in a twin which fits in the dryer easily.
My mattress has a memory foam top. This mattress pad does seem to noticeably help cool mattress.

The sizing was the best I have found it sliped right on to my queen mattress and I have a 3" Foam topper on it, but it fit o problem. It is very soft infact my husband said he had to get re use to the softer mattress. The gripper on the side.s of the matress expand and fit very snuggly over the topper.
