I purchased this mattress zipcover because I live in an apartment in a city where bed bugs are rampant. So far it works. However, I wish that more detailed information was listed, i.e., the seams are loosely stitched and the same with the zipper. I had to put tape along the zipper and glue on the seams so that nothing can get in or out. Had more detail been listed, I would have chosen a different product. In the future, if pertinent details are not listed, I'll pass on the item.
After all the recent hype about bed bug epidemics in the US, I wanted to purchase a cover for my brand new mattress. This one fit perfectly on a just under 9" mattress from Ikea. It's snug and paper-thin. It does have a locking zipper and the material is soft enough that it will not make noise when moving on the mattress. After placing a mattress pad on top of it, the cover is completely undetectable. Packaging comes complete with instructions for what to do if the bed already has bugs or mites, as well as maintenance recommendations. I recommend as a precaution against what can be a really expensive issue!

It doesn't work as advertised. Bedbugs still come out of the mattress through the stitching of the cover. Plus the cover is very thin (paper-ish) and fragile.

Two minutes out of the packagingthe mattress cover ripped at the zipper seam as I was installing it around the mattress. Hopefully they will mail me a replacement at no cost, but I would spring for a better quality one with stronger stitching.

Bought 2 different brands.. this on is paper-like... the zipper does not go full length... and I much prefer the more expensive, full-lenght zipper, terry-cloth-like cover. For something that is supposed to last a long time... this is not the best... However, I assume it does work to restrict mites, and if left alone (no dogs or kids stressing it... like clawing, digging, pulling) it should work as well as the most expensive.
