Not all U-Shaped memory foam pillows are built the same. Some advertise to say memory foam but they are of poor quality and are harder than heck. Others, like this Silverrest/DeLandis pillow are just simply outstanding in its softness and plushiness that you have come to know about quality memory foam pillows.
I actually took a chance when I bought this product judging from the photo that it looks to be like the good kind of memory foam pillow. When the product arrived, it came in a box that left it a little something to be desired but as they always say "don't judge a pillow by its cover" because inside the box, the product was still sealed in its original aerated plastic. After popping it out of its plastic, I gently took a squeeze on the pillow hoping to get the kind of feeling that I'd come to expect from quality memory foam products. And guess what? Minutes later, I'm sitting on the computer typing up this review!
If you are in search of a high quality U-Shaped memory foam travel pillow, don't look any further. I actually walked into a "Brookstone" store the other day and stumbled upon a "Tempur-Pedic" U-Shaped neck pillow and checked it out to see if it was any good and believe me, that product doesn't even come close to the quality of this pillow and it is twice the cost. The Tempur Pedic travel pillow was softer than the average cheap U-Shaped memory foam neck pillow (well, it is actually a lot softer compared to the memory foam with neck massager pillow that you can buy for about $15 because that thing is just as hard as heck two thumbs down for that product) but while the Tempur-Pedic pillow beats the average memory foam pillow, it is nothing compared to the softness and plushiness of this pillow. Expensive isn't always better and this is a product that proves it.
The only caveat to this pillow is that it is made in China, or at least, the box says that, but so is the Tempur Pedic one. Besides, what product is not made in China these days. Do note that I don't have anything against China made products, I am always just worried about the quality of the product that I am getting. Well, if it means anything to you, this travel pillow is one made in China product that I will always buy.
In case, I haven't said it enough, I highly, highly recommend this pillow to anyone who thinks that they need a memory foam travel pillow. I honestly don't think that it can get better than this for memory foams, but hey, also check out the one with the micro beads because those are very good travel pillows as well.
I received this pillow less than a day ago, but I'm already so happy with it! I suffer from severe neck pain and stiffness due to herniated discs in my neck as well as arthritis. I ordered this pillow to use while sitting in my chair watching TV. I have a tendency to doze off while watching TV, and sometimes my head would fall to the side or foward while I was sleeping, causing excruciating neck pain upon awakening. While watching TV last evening, I used the pillow for the first time. It was SO comfortable and soft, that within five minutes of putting it on, I started dozing off! What a wonderful testimonial. It supported my neck and head so my head wouldn't fall to the side. I felt relaxed and "cozy". I imagine the pillow would be excellent for plane, train, or bus travel as well. I highly recommend it!

I had been searching for a travel pillow for a little while when I decided on this one. I don't have much of a basis for comparison, but I will say that this thing is great! I really like the firmness of the memory foam as opposed to the "bean" type travel pillows. I think that it provides good neck support when napping on a trip, etc. Anyway I would recommend this product. On a side note, the travel pillow I received was blue so I posted a picture of it.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife who tends to fall asleep on long car rides. I have always felt badly looking over to see her head slumped uncomfortably, so I though this might be a solution.
Based on the reviews here, I purchased this pillow and she loves it!
It is comfortable and well made, and just firm enough to give that support.
One tip; bring the pillow into the house at night if you live in a cold climate. The memory foam gets very cold and hard in cold weather and takes a while to warm up.

I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas, believing it to be the same as the much touted start-up invention I had read about in an article, or at least a product of similar utility and quality. However, when this package arrived (2 weeks after Christmas, I might add, even though I had ordered it a month prior, probably owing to the fact that it came straight from the factories of China), it was not at all what I had hoped. The stuffing is lumpy and nowhere near thick enough to be used as a headrest on airplane tabletops. The hand holes, which I thought would lead to separate padded compartments, for extra comfort and lift when leaning forward, were mere holes leading right in front of the face. So basically, you'll be sleeping with your face directly on your hands, which is uncomfortable for both your hands and facial muscles. Also, when using this pillow sitting up, there are open holes right next to your ears, eliminating any sound muffling capacities this pillow appears to have. The mouth hole is placed too high and is too large, and doesn't fully cover the eyes, thus the last useful possibility of this pillow is eliminated. I would like to get my money back, but I'm not sure how simple that will be since this is a Chinese company and would have to be shipped internationally. Save your time and money, buy the real thing!
