Contour Memory Foam Leg Pillow with Cover

This pillow was too soft! It needs to be firm enough to keep your knees apart which is the whole purpose in using a leg pillow in the first place. This pillow was so soft that my knees ended up mashing it within minutes and therefore my knees were touching and the pillow was useless. I don't recommend this for anyone who needs a pillow for knee support for proper spine alignment and back health.

I have had a couple pillows of this sort. This one is perfect for me precisely because it is relatively soft and it isn't too thick. I am about 5 ft 8 in and 180 pounds, so not a huge man, but not small. I have knee problems and also a vascular malformation on one lower leg, as well as knobby knees. When I sleep on my side and my knees are together, I often have problems with lateral pressure on one knee, pressure between the knees causing blood stasis in the VM, or other problems. These are enough that I often have trouble sleeping or am awakened by pain. I sometimes sleep with a regular pillow between my legs, which has helped a lot, but it is very awkward under the covers. I tried a similar type of contour leg pillow that had much denser foam and was much thicker, but it was too dense and too thick -my legs just didn't feel comfortable with it, though I slept a little better. So I was looking for a thinner, softer pillow, which this is.

The bottom line is that these sorts of things depend a lot on personal preference, the size of the individual, why you need a leg pillow, etc.

My hubby and I have been using leg pillows for a while and needed new ones. We bought one of these and one of the HoMedics Ortho Therapy leg pillows, so here's my two cents comparing the two. This is the one that I use -I'm 5'7", female, average build. I like the pillow, the shape is good and the cover has a nice texture, but will almost certainly have to replace it in 12-18 months. I've already noticed that it is flatter than when I first got it a few weeks ago, though it isn't anywhere near problematic now.

My hubby is 5'9" and has some back problems, and prefers the HoMedics pillow. While he initially found it big and stiff, he's adjusted and likes it now. I've tried his once and it was FAR too wide/stiff for me -felt like I had a large cardboard box between my knees. I believe that the HoMedics will loosen up somewhat over time, but it seems more durable than the Contour, just too big for me.

This is a really soft pillow, with a very nice soft cover. Unfortunately, the inside is too soft to provide enough support for most people. When I put it between my legs, it gets compressed too easily and my legs touch, which is not what is supposed to happen. This leg pillow doesn't provide enough support to keep your legs apart while sleeping.

The memory foam is much too soft, so the pillow does not separate the knees, making it worthless. Earlier versions of the Contour kneee pillow were made of regular foam, so initially, they provided sufficient separation to relieve stress on the hips. Eventually, the foam compressed until the spacing was insufficient, requiring replacement every few years. This new pillow was supposed to be the replacement, but brand new, it's worse than my existing old one. Presumably, Amazon will take it back; they're usually good about this.

Serta Latex Contour Pillow

While a wildly comfortable pillow, the Serta 2-Layer has a few drawbacks of which you should be aware. Here's the low-down:

Pros:

-Conforms to the head nearly as well as a Tempurpedic. Extremely comfortable for side-sleepers! On this aspect, I was truly impressed!

-Has a zip-off, washable cover. (Tempurpedic pillows do not have zip-off covers).

-Carefully packaged. Sealed in plastic to prevent contamination and then housed in a thick cardboard box (recyclable) to prevent any sort of en-route trauma.

-Excellent price!

Potential cons:

-There is (initially) an unpleasant odor (as with Serta's other pillows in this line). As indicated in the booklet, this begins to dissipate after the first twenty-four hours. Those with sensitivities may need to unwrap this product and leave it exposed to air for a few days.

-The pillow is surprisingly small (in length, width, and height). My standard pillow-case is considerably too large for it ... as is the pillow-protector I purchased for it. I checked Amazon and the Serta website, but could not locate ones specifically made for this pillow.

Admittedly, I am confounded by the absence of adequate covers for this pillow, but if an ill-fitting cover is the price I pay for a (very) comfortable night's sleep ... that's fine. Overall, it's a good product at a great price. (By the way, if any customers locate a suitable protector/cover for this pillow, please feel free to comment here! It would be very much appreciated!)

These types of pillows seem to have gotten better in the past couple of years. The main problem I always saw with memory foam pillows was that they tended to mold to one's head too much and inevitably lost their supportive function which resulted in stiff neck and shoulders as well as headaches.

This is the second foam pillow I bought this year, the other being a Carpenter Therapedic Backsense Avena Sure Support Contour Pillow. Both pillows are strikingly similar in weight, feel and support they provide: Both are light-weight, both are easily squeezed and both give great support without the old memory foam feeling of "sinking in". Where they differ: The Serta apparently achieves this support through a Latex layer on top of the memory foam and I must say that it does a great job. From the first night on I felt like I was tossing and turning significantly less and that I got much better sleep. The pillow feels sufficiently soft yet provides all the support I need for my neck.

Having had cervical spine surgery 6 months ago, it is very important to me to use a pillow that helps put my head in a good position, preventing further problems down the road and assisting with the bone fusion still in progress. So far the Serta works perfectly. The question will be how well it holds up over time. I got the same good results from the Carpenter Avena Sure Support at first but then the pillow felt just a bit too soft after we had removed a memory foam mattress pad to get a firmer sleeping surface. I tended to wake up stiff and not well rested whether this was due to the firmer mattress or whether the pillow material had softened a bit, I am not sure.

For now I am happy with the Serta and hope that the Latex will preserve the supportive function permanently or at least over a longer period of time. I will post an update should something change over the coming months.

I'm always wary of buying a new pillow because my arthritic neck needs support or I really feel it in the morning. And of course, pillows aren't returnable. I didn't want just memory foam, which gets too soft after a while. This one is comfy and provides good support. Excellent for the price.

I have been using this pillow for almost a month now. It is really comfortable and provides great neck support. It is definitely smaller than a standard pillow, but that does not bother me at all. When you pull it out of the packaging, it does have a slight odor, but once I put the pillow case on, I didn't notice it.

The only downside is that Amazon shipped it in a box that was abut 20 times larger than the pillow, and that box is still living in my office...

I've tried these pillows before and they have always proven to be uncomfortable for me. I wasn't expecting much out of this Serta 2. I have slept with it for 2 nights now and much to my surprise it is very comfortable. I normally sleep with 2 pillows at night and since I've gotten the Serta 2 this is the only pillow I have used. I'm normally not a big fan of the memory foam, but would strongly recommend this pillow to anyone. It's not too soft, but at the same time not too stiff proven to be just right. Just got the pillow yesterday and I really like it but it looks different in person. I'm just concerned that the other two pillows would coordinate with it.

When I first looked at these pillows through the frosty plastic bag, I did not like them. The colors looked wrong. What was supposed to be burgundy looked brown, and the turquoise seemed overwhelming. But I took one out of the bag just to see if it made a difference, and boy, did it! While this sea turtle is nice; the original turtle is much better: The original: 1) has more stars/constellations to really turn the ceiling into a night sky; 2) it offers 3 color displays (blue, green and orange); the sea turtle CLAIMS to offer 3 colors, but it actually is only 2 and the "third" color comes when you press both the green and blue on at the SAME TIME, thus creating a "blue green" turtle shell. Further, when you do this, TWO displays are cast onto the ceiling (one green and one blue; NOT one blue-green display), it is very weird to see 2 moons and 2 sets of identical stars on the ceiling; and 3) on the original when you press each of the color buttons, the other color will automatically turn off, on the sea turtle if you don't turn off a color, you get that weird double display I was talking about.

Also, as a note, the endangered animals on the turtle only light up ON the turtle's shell NOT get cast onto the wall or ceiling.

If you are considering this, I absolutely would recommend the original turtle instead. Both my sons (2 and 4) LOVE LOVE LOVE it (and their friends all do, too, when they come over). They love to play with it and they love to fall asleep to it.

I purchased this turtle for my eleven year old brother for Christmas and he really loves it...as does everyone else in the house! Everyone wants their turn at night to have their ceiling illuminated with stars! I have also previously purchased the Twilight Ladybug for my three year old daughter, which is so adorable. My only comment between the two items is that the ladybug projects the stars over a greater area...even onto the walls somewhat (in a large sized kids room), while the turtle projects in a narrower oval shape which only does about half the ceiling in a large room. This is probably due to the shell shapes...but just FYI...if you want more coverage go with the ladybug!

Don't expect to use it as a nightlight by which to see your child's facial expressions or to change his diaper (as I learned once they both arrived). It's not that bright. But if you want something that will project non-moving stars on the ceiling (i.e. a patch of about 3 ft by 3 ft on your ceiling), it works. You can also choose either green stars, blue stars, or both. It also has little pictures of endangered marine life that light up. If you want something to change a diaper, get a small lamp with a low wattage light bulb. If you want something "cute," especially for an older child, get this.

This is the 4th Turtle night light we have purchased for our Grandchildren and Godson. We have purchased the

I have a nine week old who is sleeping through the night, but I wanted to have a night light for her that glowed with color and projected something for her to focus on at night in case she had sleep problems moving from the bassinet to the crib. We got this last night and I am boxing it up to return right after I write this.

The cut-outs for the stars are only on two of the top "shell" portions, so you don't get the full canopy on your ceiling like you do with the ladybug. Also, the pattern is very weird, nothing like stars falling over everything in a magical way like you imagine when you order this for your child. The sides that light up are pretty cheesy; it makes you irritated that the space was wasted when it could have been used for more star cut-outs. You can make certain animals light up on the shell, but it's dumb; doing so makes it so you can't even see the picture of the animal any more, just this bright spot on the shell.

The light projection comes in blue, green, or "aquamarine"...yeah, it's only the green and blue on at the same time but not mixing the colors as they project through the cut-outs (so you even get two moons showing on your ceiling so it looks extra dumb).

Seriously, this is so lame. Get the ladybug instead. I got the ladybug for my 10 year old, and it was very cool. We put it in the middle of her room on the top of a tall laundry basket, and the whole ceiling and walls were covered in stars. The seaturtle is very very lame.

Oh, and the bedtime story that comes with it would FREAK OUT a small child. It's all about, "oh, this sweet little animal is going to die forever if you don't save it. You need to hurry and save it before it dies". Like I want to then kiss the forehead of a three year old and say "goodnight" after I have just told them that! Not too soothing before bed. (Really, the story is pretty hard-core for little kids tell them animals are going to die right before bed. Nice).

Anyway, this is lame, so don't get it.

I 'flattened' it out a bit and measured 15" long, 11" wide, 4.5" high. Approximately. So yes, it's a small pillow. But I knew that. I wanted a good quality down pillow.

My 19 year old already has headaches and neck problems from sleeping on her stomach. The doctor said to 'get her off her stomach', but try getting a teenage girl who's slept on her stomach 19 years to do that! Barring that, he said to get her a good quality 'down' pillow that would at least allow her head and neck to not be so high/arched up in the air. So the money is worth it to me.

She doesn't really "roll" in the night, she will just move her face only from left to right, so a larger pillow is not necessary. She is happy with the size of this one.

The pillow is super soft. It is over-stuffed so although it sinks down when you put your head on it, it only sinks to about 2 inches high. I don't know. Maybe it would be better if it would sink to 1 inch high, but she's happy with it. And if she's happy, she'll use it. How can I really complain about a pillow that has a good amount of down in it!!??

The case is soft, tightly woven, of great quality and finished with a small satin piping all the way around. No frays or loose threads. Very nice.

Contour Twist Bending Massage Pillow

I buy a lot of gifts and this was one of them. It is not as nice as the previous brand by another company but she still likes it. It has a plug hole it seems to plug something into it, what I don't know but we find that weird. It also doesn't have a removable cover so you can wash it either. There wasn't a need to return it but wouldn't give it 5 stars. It's ok though for the price.

I got this pillow for the europe trip in October. The malleable shape of the pillow helped me to have a good in-flight sleep throughout the trip. I have a long neck. The regular neck pillow is just kinda low for me and causes soreness when I fall asleep. This pillow however, gives me the height and level of firmness needed. It is actually best to use leaning to the window, fill up the gap between the neck, hug around it while cushioning the head. The massager is operated by 2 AA batteries. Use it a bit in-flight but quit that because the vibration it caused might have disturbed the passager next to me. Overall, it is a worthy pillow on the go. I fold it into half and use it as pillow in the hotel as well.

p/s. the motor and malleable parts in the pillow had caused some alert for rescanning x2 by the TSA from Houston but no problem when re-enter from Washington DC. May be the TSA staff are just being more cautious. I would suggest to pull the pillow out from the bag/backpack.

I bought this pillow 2 years ago to use as a support for my neck at night.

The battery-massage aspect I find useless and I ended up taking these things out...However, the bending aspect of this pillow is the best I have found to date.

I can bend it tightly around my neck and it supports my neck on 3 complete sides. Medically I have a non-malignant small 'lump' on my back near the base of my neck. My pain doctor says this condition is common with Irish heritage. In addition to this I have early degeneration of 3 of my neck discs and chronic fibromyalgia pain aggravated by all of the above.

This pillow enables me to sleep with support and pain relief. I take this pillow everywhere I plan to sleep overnight and find myself unable to come up with a substitution when it is not there.

I have since tried memory foam bendable neck pillows but NONE have given me the 3 sided support that this pillow has!

I plan to order a 2nd.

If you have any similar problems conditions...I strongly encourage trying this pillow out (minus the battery/vibration add on) :)

I bought this pillow to make the transition to sleeping only on my side easier when I became pregnant. It is a wonderful pillow--except the area where your neck goes is very uncomfortable!

The seam of the inside curve on both ends is sewn while pulled very tightly, so when I position my head on top, this tight seam digs into my shoulder. I have tried to ease it by pushing it up against the headboard, or making sure the whole pillow wasn't held taut, or draping it with an extra pillowcase, but nothing I do has helped. I wake up with a sore shoulder, which stinks because I love the rest of the pillow! I'm going to see if it's returnable, and I'm going to try the one shaped like a "6", and use my own pillow for my head. Oh well!

I bought this when I was 19 weeks pregnant after a friend recommended it. I'm now 23 weeks, and I don't think I could sleep without it! She said if she had to do over again, she would get this one instead. I agree. This one gives back and belly support, and doesn't need to be readjusted if you turn over. I originally thought this was too expensive for a pillow, but it's worth every penny.

I've had the original Snoogle body pillow for two years now and absolutely loved it. It held up great over time, great in the washing machine and was super comfortable during my first pregnancy and beyond. I literally cannot sleep a night without it! I really like this pillow. I can't sleep on one side for the whole night so I was looking for a pregnancy pillow that didn't need to be re-adjusted every time I turn over. This pillow supports my back and my hips. The only down side is it doesn't really support my belly all that well. I have to use another pillow for that.

I'm currently 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I suffered from previous back injuries in the past but it never fully recovered, so I started feeling slight back pains during the first trimester of pregnancy. I had trouble keeping on my left side when sleeping which led to more back pain. I tried using snoozers and pillows, but nothing seemed to work. We looked at the local maternity stores around but they only sold the C-shaped maternity pillows, and I figured they would be just the same as the snoozer at home. It was Chinese New Year and the shops in Hong Kong were closed, and I really needed the help, so I paid a little extra for priority mail and the snoogle loop pillow came in three days! I used it straight after I received it, but it did take me some time to get used to on the first night (I'm still not used to hugging something to sleep), but yes, the fact that it loops around the whole body, prevented me from sleeping on my back during the night, and the shape of the pillow ensured that my sleeping posture is correct. It also keeps my legs elevated so that I don't find myself having swollen feet in the morning. In fact, the snoogle loop pillow isn't as big as others said it was (it takes up less space than me hugging a snoozer and with pillows behind my back) we have a Queen size bed and I don't even take up half the bed yet! It's very comfy and firm, except the inside curve where the head goes, the seams are sewed a little too tight, but I usually sleep a little further down so that's not much of a problem (and there's still lots of room for me and I'm 5'5"). Others have complained about the fabric being too rough on their skin, but I've had no issues with this despite having very sensitive skin. During the day, I fold the pillow up so it becomes like a cushioned chair and I lean into that when I'm reading or using the laptop. It's so comfy, I often find my hubby snuggling it during the night! The only downside is the part where the head goes and I find that it doesn't support my neck enough, leaving me with neck stiffness, but now I put a very thin pillow (it's actually the pillow I used when I was a baby) underneath the snoogle loop pillow and everything is fine now! I just wish they had nicer patterns for the case, as they currently only have ivory white, but I would say, it was definitely a good buy and very worth it.

This item is very poor quality. The fitted sheet was already ripped in the corner. I gave it its initial wash and the threads already started to pull apart.

Serta 4-Pound Memory Foam 2-Inch Mattress Topper

I purchased this topper in the 1st part of January. It is comfortable to sleep on and the "chemical" odor disappeared within 24 hours of airing. The downside to the mattress is, it does not hold up to active sleeping. The topper is splitting in two areas. I would have expected it to hold together longer than two months.

I bought the 4" version of the 4-lb mattress topper about 2 years ago. After about a year or 1.5 years of use, it started seriously deteriorating.

Finally today (after months of putting up with lying in "crevasses" of broken mattress pad) we threw it out. It was falling apart into chunks that looked just like crumbly sponge-cake; the only way it even held together enough for us to even carry it out was by carrying it rolled up in a sheet.

I was hoping it would last longer than this. Although it was comfortable while it lasted, I would not buy a Serta brand memory foam mattress topper again.

I bought the 4" version of this. The pad opened nicely over a few hours and the odor dissipated within a day or two. So far so good.

The idea of memory foam is that when you press it down, it stays pressed for a while. But apparently not all visco-elastic (memory foams) are created equal. There are shades of grey, from old-fashioned bounce-right-back foams at one end to high quality viscoelastics which take a long time to bounce back from impressions, and retain that property in use. The market leader in this field (starts with a "T") claims they have a proprietary process to manufacture the foam which gives it a slow recovery and a long service life. I had assumed this was marketing hype, but after using this Serta-labeled topper, I am more ready to believe it may be true.

This product is in the middle; it starts out with a modest memory property, somewhere in-between true viscoelastic and the old bouncy stuff. It's nice to sleep on, I like it, and I recommend it, especially at the low price. But it's not real memory foam. And note that one website which sells this Serta brand has the following warning: "Due to the nature of Memory Foam the firmness level of every item is unique. Please be advised that even similar products may produce different firmness results." What? Every item unique? We expect that from buying strawberries, but not manufactured products.

My conclusion is that the most reliable high quality memory foam on the market is probably that very expensive "T" stuff, and to get that effect there is no other choice. This topper item is not bad at all. You may like it as an improvement over what you have now, and it costs way less. But don't expect it to have the same strong permanent viscoelastic property.

I actually bought this mattress on overstock for about 79 dollars...make sure you buy one size up then cut the excess with a sharp kitchen knife. This topper is not too soft, not too firm. If you have bad joints from RA or some other medical condition, I would highly recommend a memory foam topper. It relieves any pressure off the joint so that you don't "feel" the mattress underneath you.
