Northpoint Animal Character Travel Pillow

My baby got this pillow as one of the gifts from a friend for my baby shower. My husband and I were like -what the heck kind of crazy animal is this? So we called it "the dragon grasshopper dinosaur". We figured we'd put it in the baby's closet until he was older. Well when he was a few months old and cranky one day, I handed it to him -he hugged it and fell asleep. Ever since it has been his sleeping buddy. My husband and I decided that we should have another one "on hand" just in case anything ever happened to the dragon grasshopper dinosaur or so we could at have a substitute while we at least wash the thing. So we searched and searched and finally my husband came across a picture of it (thanks google) -it was a northpoint pillow and the "dragon grasshopper dinosaur" was actually a Salamander -named Sam.

I ordered one (sold by Amazon LLC) and when it arrived there was what looked like a fresh spot of oil on it. (since the washing directions state : spot clean only) I wasn't going to try to risk washing it (The whole purpose of getting another one was to see if we could swap it in (unnoticed) while we tried to wash his original one. So I sent the defective one back for a replacement (noting that the packaging and label both noted manufactured in January 2011). Well the replacement arrived and it had a small circular hole in it (this one also manufactured in January 2011, so maybe it was the whole lot). I returned that one too.

I ended up ordering my third one on Amazon BUT FROM a different sellerInspirations by Taylor. This pillow was more expensive, but not dirty nor did it have holes. We kept this one. I successfully swapped this imposter in. While I successfully hand washed his other one, and laid it out to dry on a rack in the sun for 5 hours.

We received several animal travel pillows. I got these as gifts for grandchildren and this one came in the box, outside the plastic, and filthy dirty. The leg also came off. I had to sew it on and clean it, as all the other kids would get theirs but this grandchild would have been left out. I filed a complaint with Amazon and got NO response. Will definitely think twice before EVER ordering from here again.

I got 3 of these in different characters for my boys. We had a long trip to Spain coming up and I know how uncomfortable even short flights can be without a good pillow so for a flight of more than 9 hours, this pillow is a must have! These work better than the inflatable one I got for myself. As much as I travel, I can say that bringing your own pillow and blanket are a must. It makes the difference between a bearably pleasant flight vs. a miserable flight.

I bought one of these for each of my kids (age 20 months and 4 1/2) for our first long car trip. They loved snuggling with them and it helped keep their heads somewhat upright. The pillow did wiggle around over time and didn't support their heads quite as well, but still did an ok job. They felt nice and soft and arrived clean. The only problem I had was with the seller/shipper as I ordered the puppy and the bear and received two of the bears instead. We were leaving the next day so didn't have time to return one.
