I washed these cases before using as instructed on the packaging. It said to dry on medium heat, which I did for only about 5 minutes and when I took them out of the dryer, they were all crumpled. The plastic on the inside had melted!

Aside from the melting problem, the terry cloth on the outside also seems kind of cheap. I found much better bed bug proof pillow cases made by Allergy Luxe.

I was very disappointed with these pillow protectors.

I got a mattress encasement from this same manufacturer which I like fine. The Mattress protector has a smooth surface and a way to tie the zipper closed so that it doesn't slip open (allowing bugs to go in or out.) The pillow protectors lack these features.

The zipper creeps open at times and there's no way to secure it in place. Additionally the Terrycloth surface is a great place for bugs to get into and hide. They may or may not get into the pillow itself (IF the zipper stays closed) but they'll have a great time nesting on the surface. It's a dust trap and small bug heaven.

I'd like a product that works like the mattress protector. Something that is intended to be left in place permanently, and that can be surface wiped if necessary. This pillow cover appears to be made with the intent that the user remove and launder it regularly. I have pillow cases for that. I need a functional reliable barrier that can be left in place permanently. I hope a better version will be made in the future.

I have already told my whole, long, sad story in my review of the AllerZip Bedbug Mattress protector, so I won't relive my story here. But these pillow case covers are awesome. There isn't much worse than going to bed at night and worrying that bugs could come crawling out of your pillowcase and onto you. AllerZip products seal incredibly tight, and you can throw the pillow in any pillowcase after that, and be able to sleep in peace. I highly recommend all AllerZip products either for bugs, dust mites or anything else!
