Better Sleep Leg Wedge Pillow

Following total hip replacement surgery I was told I would need to sleep with a pillow between my knees for 3 months. A regular pillow was too large and difficult to stay in place. This small wedge pillow works very well. Even my physical therapist likes it and asked where I bought it so she could recommend it to others.

I had high expectations for this item as I have knee and back problems and had been using small pillows for years between my knees. Well this item feel like more wedge than pillow. I do not find it very comfortable because if feels too bulky for my liking. It does take pressure off of my back; however, it is like I have to force it into place between my legs because it is so bulky. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and thought that it was soften up a bit with wear but so far, it is still kind of uncomfortable. I am a 5'3 thick female and it seems like it could stand to be longer as opposed to bulkier, which may have worked better for my needs and comfort level. It does not flatten out like small pillows have in the past...I have also tried body pillows but they are just too hot for me to sleep with. For the money I paid, I will try to continue to use this in hopes that it softens up more, which may make it more comfortable...but I sure am tempted to grab one of my ole small pillows, which are more comfortable to me; I just have to fluff them throughout the night.

Also, my 2 Rat Terrier dogs sleep with me and the cover for this pillow is an absolute magnet for dog hair. With it being an off-white color, it is very aggravating having to clean off dog hair every couple of days. This pillow seems sturdy enough but is just cumbersome for me. I have not used it open to support my ankles. I am a side sleeper and just use it then. Sometimes, I do feel the zipper if I (or it) moves the wrong way. I would loosely recommend this pillow for the right person as it does seem durable and like it will last for quite a while. Primarily, I just wished it were not as thick, which would make if more comfortable for me. I also wished the company offered cases for it in a different material or at the very least in different colors so that I could not see the dog hair as badly.

I purchased this pillow after I had both of my knees totally replaced in June of 2008. It has worked wonders for me for comfort for sleeping at night. Great product! I like the fact it can be opened and only one part be used or to put it under my ankles for elevation.

I liked the concept of this pillow after hip replacement surgery I was instructed to always sleep with a pillow between my leg. This pillow was too big for me, though. When I put it between my knees, my upper leg just hung in the air. It must be made for someone much larger with a wider hip.
