Serta iComfort Contour Pillow (Standard Size)

I have neck and shoulder pain that prompted me to purchase a memory foam mattress. I liked it so much that I thought a memory foam pillow would help even more. It has. I am a back sleeper but I do spend a small amount of time my side and this pillow is just as comfortable in both positions. After sneaking over to my side a few times in the morning my husband wants one now. I used to buy cheap pillows and throw them out after 6 months so this one is more of an investment...but worth it. It did softened up over the first couple of weeks so if you think it is too hard at the beginning just stick with it.

I just got this pillow with a set a mattresses I bought. I wanted to see the reviews on Amazon before I purchased it.... but sadly there weren't any. I have chronic neck pain from a congenital defect in my cervical spine. I have always suffered from neck pain from pillows, and as I get older it is getting worse. Never a back sleeper, because of the discomfort from standard pillows. I realize that I have only slept on this just one night, but just the way it contoured to my neck in the store, and all night long,it just feels great! I tend to sleep on my side because its more comfortable on my neck, but with this pillow, I kept turning to my back. I slept on my back most of the night, and my neck wasn't sore or strained upon waking this morning. I thought the pillow was softer (not as firm) at home than it was in the store. I'm still confused by that. It has a slight smell, it aired out all day, and when I went to bed, I didn't notice an odor to strong to keep me awake. I have had a contoured pillow in the past that was given to me, quality unknown, but this is my first purchase of a specialized pillow. I am extremely happy with it the first night. Yes it was a little warmer than a standard pillow, but again, not enough to keep me awake. BTW the salesman kindly matched the Amazon.com price, and didn't add the cost of shipping.

I'll do a follow-up after I have tried it out for a while too...
