Carex Contour Back Cushion

I've been reviewing back support cushions for a while. And this one had a good review, and definitely it came as expected. It is very comfortable, not too bulk. I'm using it on an office chair, and still will try it in the car. Although it doesn't come with a strap, one can easily be placed with velcro, if you have someone who knows how to sew. Basically, a lot of the ones that come with straps, are made from a stretchable material that does hold the cushion anyways. When I sit down, I don't really need the strap to hold it, unless I'm moving a lot in the chair, which isn't frequent. For people who work in an office or on the computer, this is a good match.

Things to keep in mind: The pillow is not too wide, and since it has a curvature it may not be the right fit for everyone. I'm medium/slim build, female, and this is just perfect for me. However, anyone who is larger build will have an issue feeling comfy with the cushion. Your back is likely to go off the pillow if you are larger, so please review dimensions and take measurments at home. Many pillows without the side inward curvature may be a better match if you are large build.

The product's image looks like royal blue, but the pillow is dark blue as described in the text.

This is a must have for people who spend a lot of their day sitting down, to keep posture correct instead of slouching.

UPDATE (October 8th, 2010): I initally gave 5 stars, and have changed to 3.

I recently bought Esther Gokhale's book "8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back: Natural Posture" to realize that although I wasn't slouching any more, this cushion was causing a sway in my back. I.e. too much curvature in the lower back which also causes problems. Although, I apparently feel comfortable with the cushion, my back pain has not gotten any better. I'm now trying Gokhale's techniques of a natural posture, learning what good posture is and what to correct as I sleep, sit and walk... and so far my back is getting better every day (and I'm only 1/3 of the book and putting the exercises gradually into practice for over a month). I was skeptical about the book, but didn't have anything to lose, and so far what she teaches makes perfect sense; I was just not conscious of my bad posture... like most people aren't. I recommend reading this book, and then decide what cushion is best for you. Gokhale sells her own cushion on her site. I bought one this week, only because I noticed that her posture correction is helping so greatly, so might as well try the cushion.

It is disappointing that we read this cushion is good, and then someone else says it is bad. Who is right? I guess we have to try both to find out, and I'm coming to the conclusion that correcting posture is the essential step. One spends so much with medical bills, and a book may be a cheaper solution all along.

This cushion feels just like it should. However, I've never purchased one before and I didn't understand I would need a style with a strap to hold it in place on the back of my office chair. While I'm working, it slips off the side or sinks down between the back of the seat and the chair back.

I'll keep it to use while watching tv or reading, and I'm sure it will be great for that purpose. I'll buy one with a strap for my office chair.

I just bought my third one of these. I have one at home, one in our vacation condo, and now one for the car. It's a real life-saver for me; with chronic back problems (spondylolisthesis) I was very limited and in frequent back pain until I got these. The problem is chairs without proper lumbar support; the solution for me has been this product. I even take it to restaurants (in a small bag) so that I can relax and not have to leave in a hurry because my back is going out.

NOTE: I do NOT advise getting the similar-looking "Carex Lumbar Support." It is smaller, much softer, and gives almost no support at all.

I used this for my commute in the car and it's perfect! I raise it slightly so it hits above my hips. The contour shape hugs my back providing ultimate support and comfort. One slight fall back is when I wear a heavy winter coat the cushion is a little too snug but does not cause and discomfort. I am a big price comparison shopper and the price was comparable if not slightly lower to other stores.

The mother of pearls are beautiful and matches well with the sequin decorations altogether. It's not one of those pillows where you can throw around everywhere because the sewing is so intricate. But for a luxurious decoration with some sparkle, these will work well. Price is very cheap in my opinion compared to other decorative pillows I've seen (trust me, I am always on a hunt for cute pillows) which is a double plus. Great buy. I'll consider buying more in the future.

These are what I wanted. I got the 26"x26". They are firm and supportive. They do have feathers inside, so they will poke through every once in a while. I do not use these as primaries. I set them against the head board, and put a gel pillow on top when I want to sit up. Excellent value.

I've been sleeping on a Theraputica Pillow for about 5 or so years now. Customer service is horrible. They lead you to believe the 5 year warranty is for replacement. The "replacement" is them letting you buy another one for about the same price as a new one, not including shipping of course. The pillow is foam with a thin tshirt knit pillow case. My husbands pillow made it 4,years and just started coming apart with pin holes in the case. Mine is a little better but I just bought him a Tri Core pillow -better quality for the price. Buyer beware.

I didn't realize they are polyester when i bought them. They're pretty cool, the satin finish is stunning. The polyester feel takes a little getting used to, but i think i actually like it now. They seem very durable and very, how shall i say, um, like you can not wash them for a long time and they'll still seam clean.

I LOVE this satin sheet set, it is so nice for hot weather. And the softness is of the hook.

So these were nice for about a week. It came with tears ,not all the way through, but you could see where the thread had been messed up.

Now that its been a month probably about 50% of the fitted sheet has become rough.

Only good thing I can say is that its still cool (temperature) to sleep in during this nasty hot summer.

Since the fitted sheets are 75x30, I wish the flat sheets were smaller and fitted on the bottom end to fit bunk beds. It would be much easier to make the bunk beds this way. These flat sheets are just way to big.

Also, camp cots are not usually 9 inches deep and neither is my bunk bed mattresses. Smaller depth fitted sheets would be great if offered.

These sheets are quite difficult to find so I was happy to finally locate them. They fit my narrow trundle bed mattresses well. The color (blue) is pleasing. And I received them in timely fashion.

A perfect balance of elastic recoil and mechanical compliance. These people oughta design artificial lungs. I think king pillow cases would work better than queens, (and get a proton pack) because these things are bigger and fluffier than Stay Puft.

I was hoping to find a goose down and feather pillow similar to the thick plush yet firm type I have

slept on in some hotels. Well I found it! This pillow is exactly what I had hoped it would be, plush and soft, yet firm. Only problem I had is that the packaging(you know, the nice heavy plastic, with zipper and handles so you can store it), was absolutely filthy. The white handles were not white anymore, and anyplace you touch left dirt or dust or something all over your hands. That being said, when I unzipped the bag the pillow seemed fine, no dirt or dust. I am keeping the pillow, I love the pillow, but I threw the packaging away, and washed my hands!

I think the bedspread is nicely proportioned for a Queen size bed and has enough length to cover two pillows but I thought that the 2 Standard shams came with it. The item that was listed said that the 2 pillows shams 26 or 28 x ?. I forget because I ordered the bedspread and shams on Nov. 9th but they were out of stock and I had to wait until Dec 4th to receive it. I opened the package today and no pillow shams. I was going to order two additional pillow shams for the sale price of $23.75 but I wanted to wait until I saw how the ones I thought that came with my bedspread looked. I think $32.00 for one pillow sham is entirely too much for the one pillow sham product. The item does not list the Angela Bedspread as coming with the pillow shams now and it is more expensive.

This beautiful King bedspread was exactly as shown on the website. It fits my California King perfectly and the touch of burgundy in the pattern goes perfectly with my burgundy sheets. Also, the bedspread does not move while you are sleeping. It is hardly necessary to straighten the bedspread in the morning as it lays perfectly on the bed even tossing & turning. Well, worth the money a quality product! Not too heavy and not too light in weight.

"Egyptian sheets" doesn't mean Egyptian Cotton!

These sheets are nice, and, obviously, super cheap. Bought them for my mom cause I couldn't find nice, soft, high thread count sheets in twin size in any store. I was in a hurry and didn't read the product description carefully enough and so was sucked in by the seeming 70 or 80 percent price reduction. That said, they are probably worth the price, but I wouldn't have bought them if I'd read "microfiber" in the description. In fact, they're just 100% polyester and I'll have to monitor carefully whether they irritate my mom's skin. The bad's on me, but it was a good reminder to do something I'm usually super careful to do: "Read the label!"

I love these sheets! I bought these in April, and I have not had any problems with them. They have not stretched out or pilled or gotten any scratches or tears as some of the other reviewers mentioned. Maybe they got fluke mistakes? They have been through many washes and fared well in the washer and dryer. Some things you may want to know: there was no tag anywhere on this product indicating what this fabric is. It might actually be 1200 threadcount cotton, but it feels more like some kind of cotton blend. Since there is nothing on the actual product or the packaging to confirm the company's claims, who knows? I decided not to care because they are so comfortable. Also, the color was not "deep caramel." It was not as rich of a color as what is shown; it's more like summer khaki. But they are still neutral enough to go with everything, and like I said, they are comfortable! The measurements fit my 18" thick mattress perfectly, and I could probably have had a thicker mattress and they'd have worked. You're not going to find sheets this nice for a better price on Amazon. Overall, great product for a great price!

I can literally read the newspaper through these so called 1500 TC sheets. They're definitely not Egyptian cotton! I have a number of sheet sets that are Egyptian Cotton that range from 400-600 TC and all of them are thicker, and better in overall quality than these! SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME! However, if you buy these directly from the JSC company you will spend less. Since I purchased this set I've bought a 1500 thread count set for about $10.00 less.

Beyond Down Gel Fiber Mattress Pad

I had high hopes for this mattress pad. It started out wonderful, but after a short time, the material traveled into the other squares. This left the sections directly under where we sleep without any stuffing, and all around us padded nicely with the comfy gel insides. We've tried throwing it in the dryer on the air setting with tennis balls to "punch" it around, but it hasn't really helped. I wouldn't have purchased this mattress pad if I had known about these results. I think the next time we purchase something like this, we'll try a memory foam mattress pad, of which we've heard much better reviews.

Yes, this product is wonderful UNTIL you wash it. I washed and partially dried this in my heavy-duty, front-loading machines on gentle cycle, and still the stuffing shifted from pocket to pocket, leaving the mattress pad with big lumps in some pockets and no stuffing whatsoever in other pockets. I returned the two I had in Atlanta. I have several more which have not yet been washed at my summer home. We'll see what happens. I am not able to change the star rating or I certainly would. Disappointing.

the filling in this is very soft, the material is very soft and feels like quality but the padding is uneven. Why would they make the sides more padded than the center? This is the only thing I dislike about this pad, I would idelaly like the padding to be even the whole way across.
