I took off a star simply because I need a little thicker pillow. Otherwise, this thing is perfect. The shape keeps it in place even though I am a restless sleeper. Mine didn't smell, and the little pillowcase/cover it came with is good at keeping fuzz & hair off of it, but has a weird edge, so I do use a normal case, too.
After hip replacement surgery I found that as a side sleeper it was much more comfortable to sleep with a pillow between my knees. A regular bed pillow was just too bulky and limited movement too much. I then tried a memory foam knee pillow and my first take was that it was just great, but soon found that it compressed too much with body heat. It was a flat shapeless mass by morning. I needed something that would push back some. The Back Buddy Knee Pillow comes much closer to something that works for me. I wish it was just a bit firmer however.
