The pillow shams are really nice. There are buttons to close the back and the fabric was surprisingly soft. The colors are nice although the colors aren't the brown/teal shown in the picture. It's more of a light charcoal gray and a gray sea blue. My only complaint about the shams is the price. I can stomach $50 for a set, but $50 apiece is ridiculous. Unfortunately I fell in love with the duvet cover so I finally purchased the shams too, but I still don't see how they're worth that much.
The online photo is misleading. The pillow sham is not the blue striped pillow you see; it is the dark brown pillow in the very back (barely visible in the pict). This sham is a chocolate brown color with dark chocolate colored trim. It is also square shaped (aka "European Sham"). It seems to be a nice set, but not what I wanted.
