New Merlot Charmeuse Lingerie Satin Sheet Set King

Hello! I guess I'm the lucky one to be the first to review these sheets. Unless someone posts theirs right before I do, that is. I have to say that now I've gone Charmeuse Satin I'm never going back! They are 230 thread-count for those interested. I've only had them for one night but it was the best night's sleep I've had in a while. I highly recommend these sheets to anyone who wants to feel like they are sleeping in heaven! I literally felt like I'd just died and gone to Heaven! To those who complain of the bottom side of the top sheet not being satiny; here's a fix: Do like my grandmother when she makes a bed; make it dull side up so that when you flip over the top edge the "pretty" side is what you see and the satiny side is what you feel against your skin when you slip into bed at night. My only beef would be that the tag, which is normally at the foot of the sheet/blanket/etc, is on the top of the top sheet at the corner and the top sheet is a little smaller than I'm comfortable with so that when I tuck it into the foot of the bed the top of the sheet comes nearly to the middle of the bed and I have to tug it the rest of the way up, halfway dislodging it from the foot of the bed. Other than those things though, I love them. I bought a set in black from this company, too. I would also like to mention the price. I bought two king-size sets of these satin sheets for only eighteen dollars a set! That's a steal in my book!

The embroidery's far better in actuality, and the colors work surprisingly well with a large amount of themes. So far, everything seems durable, not to mention saving one from scavenging for the right filler pillow.

When i first bought this item, I knew before I received it the picture was a little disceiving. The white is actually ivory as stated in the description. It took me awhile to appreciate it as it looked so much better in the photo than on my bed. But after a little ironing, pillow fluffing, etc, it is a very nice set. I paired it with chocolate sheets and two chocolate pillow cases and it really looks contemporary. Be sure to get the matching window treatments.

This is a piece of crap, I have had it for 3-4 weeks now and it has the biggest rip in it. It is the thinnnest comforter I have ever had. It looks nothing like the picture and the guy is right, it is nothing close to suede. I would not recommend to anyone, I wish I had read the review first, but now I know.

Pottery Barn and a few other stores have been selling pillows this way for years. That being said I ordered a 20x20 feather pillow insert for this pillow. It has a nice feel, soft enough to give but still stiff enough to look filled out when not in use. I would buy from them again.

**UPDATED: I was offered a refund by Royal Hotel. They felt the set must have been defective. I will give the seller a better rating that I would have initially because of the way they handled this situation. Unfortunately, since my experience with this comforter was negative, I cannot improve my rating to any more than 2 stars. It may very well be a luxurious comforter for someone else. Mine was not.**

My daughter wanted a comforter set for her birthday and I was able to find out that this was the set she liked the most. The set looked attractive, fluffy and as though it was quality material.

When I first received the box, I was surprised at how light the box was and to be honest, the dimensions were about 1/2 of what I'd expected for a KING size set. I pushed that thought out of my mind, assuming it was just compressed for packing (silly, I know) and put it away to surprise my daughter on her actual birthday.

Lo and behold, today when we opened the package the comforter was shockingly thin. It wasn't compressed, it was literally that thin. My daughter liked the style and colors, so I bit my tongue and didn't complain out loud (although there was a running monologue in my mind how I felt about being ripped off).

Ok. We get the KING comforter on the bed (a QUEEN) and it doesn't fit! Thankfully, I'd ordered a king, because if I hadn't there wouldn't have been enough material to go down the side of her bed. As it is, there isn't enough to fit top to bottom (head/foot). We have a foot wide gap at the top so that the comforter will cover her mattress at the foot of the bed. That's ridiculous. (I am getting really furious about now, but still happily chatting with my daughter because she didn't have the high expectations I did.)

We now go to put king sized pillows in the shams and quess what? THEY DON'T FIT! So, we put standard pillows in, but it's too big, so she has pathetic looking shams on her pathetic comforter.

If you think the material is a linen-ish type material, like I did. Don't kid yourself. It's a cheap, uber thin material that doesn't look like it will last long. I am trying to think of a material it reminds me of...maybe a cheap kite from a dollar store? Seriously, the bedskirt especially is THAT thin. It's so thin you can see through it very translucent, almost transparent.

On top of that, there are odd spots on the purple part of the comforter (that hang down the sides) with PINK thread sewn. It's like a patch or something, but it's done in PINK thread and not purple (because that would be too practical to have everything match, you know).

As a final insult, there is a black stain (about the size of the nail on your pinky) that I assume is oil from the machines on the center of the bedspread near some of the embroidery.

If I could, I would send this back in a heart beat, but I am pretty sure I'll get stuck with return shipping. If this ever sells for $30 (including s/h), it would be ok I guess. But for the price I paid? Highway robbery.

Don't fall for Royal Hotel's "Comfort, quality and opulence set our luxury bedding in a class above the rest" line. I would say it is a class BELOW the rest. It is the absolute WORST bedding set I have ever bought. Don't do it! Don't buy this set.

Amazon Color Description Purple/Ivory/Black. The colors are actually a rosy lilac ivory and purple there's no black whatsoever. The sizes run small, the king spread doesn't fully cover my king bed.

Even with the color difference and size difference, overall I like the comforter enough to keep it, especially for the price.

If you only sleep on your back then this pillow is great! However, once you try to lay on your side, the areas for side sleeping are as hard as a rock. I even bought the "gentle" pillow based on other reviews, but I found that this one just got more and more UNCOMFORTABLE while trying to sleep on my side. Unfortunately, another pillow tossed onto the "dead shortly after arrival" stack in my closet :-(

Purchased to use on a chair in my room where I have the Harbor House Chelsea Paisley Duvet set. Thought it might bring the room together a bit...? Unfortunately this pillow isn't exactly the same color & pattern of the duvet as I thought it would be. It is a pewter blue on white, where my duvet is a pewter blue on a cream/beige type color. This is a small difference but if you're detail oriented it may bother you.

Also the pillow isn't necessarily comfortable... although it is a "decorative" pillow I would like to lounge on it comfortably but it is hard and packed tight, would need to move it if I wanted to occupy the chair it decorates.

When shopping for a crib mattress I read a lot of reviews from people whose babies weren't even born yet, which didn't tell me too much. The most important opinion is that of the little person actually sleeping on it! My 7-month-old has had this mattress for a week now and seems to be very happy with it. He has always been a good sleeper but had been starting to wake up a couple of times a night on the old mattress which was from my sister's second-hand crib. There was a hard, baby-sized dent in the middle which was also preventing him from sitting up properly in the crib to play with his toys. On this mattress he has slept an average of 10 hours straight each night with no waking up. He not only can sit up easier but has also learned to pull himself to a standing position (which is, I suppose, not always a plus...) From my point of view the mattress seems much thicker and more plush than the old one, with a nice medium spring to it when you push on it. It fit perfectly in my drop-side crib with no gaps anywhere. It shipped promptly, actually arriving faster than the paperback books I ordered at the same time. Overall I am very pleased with this crib mattress.

When I was deciding what mattress to use with the DaVinci Emily II Convertible Crib I purchased, I decided I would mainly focus on the big three (Serta, Sealy and Simmons) plus DaVinci themselves. I wanted to make sure I got a mattress from a Company that knew what they were doing. I researched many different models, and of course as a new parent that I am, I wasn't going to hold back on price for the mattress on which my fragile baby was going to sleep in. I wanted something safe above all and well constructed. I looked at many mattresses that were priced around $150 and more, like the Simmons BeautyRest line, but then Amazon threw a HUGE sale on this mattress...lowering it from around $140 to $97! I said, what?? I immediately researched it everywhere including the Sealy website and then decided this was a STEAL! This mattress comes with a LIFETIME warranty! So for new parents that is pretty cool if you are planning on having more babies. It is very well constructed and it is quite firm, just perfect for a newborn. At least on my Emily crib, it fits perfectly. I can't be more happy...above all, Baby loves it! That is ALL that matters. For $97 it is a STEAL! I highly recommend it.

I did a bunch of online and local searching before deciding on this mattress. Now that we have it in the crib and are using it on a day to day basis, I couldn't be happier. I bought this mattress for a DaVinci Kalani 4 in 1 Crib with Toddler Rail and it fits perfectly with no gaps.

It's a very firm mattress with a plastic type outer core, so should be water repellent I ordered the mattress two months before my baby's due date and opened the packaging to let the mattress breath, as advised.

It doesn't seem too heavy and I found it easy to lift up from the crib to change sheets.

Standard crib sheets from Pottery Barn (bought on sale!) fit perfectly and I also ordered a couple of Sealy stain protection mattress pads, which are fitted and they fit this mattress perfectly too.

So far I am happy with the mattress, time will tell how long it stands up to being slept and jumped on.

The blanket is cute and fairly vibrant but the pillow is a joke. It's about 10"x10" and feels really cheap. It's similar to really fuzzy terry cloth and the colors are pretty dull. I wish I had the option to return the pillow and keep the blanket. The quality of the blanket feels a bit cheap, too, and I'm very concerned about washing it, but since I'm choosing to use red, black, and yellow for my son's room it will look nice. I hope it holds up in the wash because it's the best color scheme I've found in a Cars blanket.

I love the deep red burgundy color of these sheets, and they feel smooth and silky and soft. People don't seem to realize that satin snags easily, and that is not a defect of the sheets or the manufacturer, it's just the nature of the material. I always sleep wearing socks and I have yet to see any pilling on my sheets. I will say though that I prefer my sheets to my pillowcases being satiny soft--I have long hair and so a satin pillowcase makes things slippery. But the sheets are lovely!
