I bought this cushion after moving into a new office and, as Murphy's Law would have it, always having someone walk in right after I ripped something good. I saw the glowing reviews and figured this might be my way of getting the problem under control. Well, I just received the product this morning, put it on my chair, let it rip, and low and behold, still odors. The product is just a regular cushion with a piece of carbon filter in it (which you can get at a pet store or hardware store for a price significantly cheaper than offered on the GasBGone site). While I appreciate the humor value in this product, I'm sorely disappointed with the quality and effectiveness. If you're buying this for serious reasons look elsewhere or make your own.

You'd think this was a joke after seeing the SNL skit about the fart filter that talked when you farted but this thing is really a breath of fresh air. I used to have to use can after can of Lysol to cover the smell of the noxious gas emitted from my rear. Lighting a candle was an invitation for 1st degree burns.

Now there's hope! At least two puffs of putrid air ahead of its predecessor the chickenscratch series, this cushion really does the trick. Instead of a direct inhalation, it's more like gently wafting the odor and no one is the wiser, except you of course *wink*.

I bought this mattress in a California King in April of 2012. It is September 2012 and I filed a warranty claim because after about 3 months the bed formed a hump in the middle and the two side where we sleep are caved in. I filed the claim and I was denied a claim from Simmons because they stated that this is normal. I am freaking out because what is this mattress going to be like in a year!! Let only any more years. I feel like my boyfriend and I might as well have bought twin beds because the hump in the middle separates us. We are also not big people. He's 180 pounds at I am 135 pounds.

I got a damaged set which was replaced very quickly. I was a little worried that they were not thick enough but now having used them for two months I find they are just right. I am very impressed with the quality and service of this company and their sheets. I have laundered them six or seven times and they are holding up very well with little to no lint in the dryer screen (shows they are not disintegrating) and no wear showing. I wash with a bit of bleach and they have not faded either. The only thing I can complain about is that the top sheet could be made just a bit longer for thick mattresses another six inches and this would be the perfect set of sheets as it is they are excellent. When the first set showed up with a cut in the packaging and sheets (someone had gotten a little overzealous with a boxcutter evidently) I contacted the company and was immediately sent a new set. Not only did they do that but offerred to discount the set for the inconvenience! I did not accept the discount as I felt they had done everything necessary to make it right. I dreaded the foam topper and did everything I could to avoid it. Unfortunately, my wife's hip pain was getting worse and we didn't have a choice. We gave this gel foam a try as an alternative and to my surprise, I actually liked it (even though I like hard beds). In fact, I don't think I've ever slept better and my wife's hip pain is completely gone. She absolutely loves it which is a good thing. When you consider the cost of a new mattress, you can't go wrong with this topper.

Regarding smell, it took about two weeks for the smell to completely dissipate. However, the smell never really bothered either one of us during that two week period (small price to pay for the comfort).

As for the heat retention that a few others have mentioned, I'm about 6' 220lbs and don't like being hot when I sleep. After having the topper for about 6 weeks, I have not noticed any issues regarding heat retention.

Another reviewer on another site mentioned that the gel foam lost its spongie properties in a short amount of time where they mostly laid. After 6 weeks of use, we have not noticed any such issue.

You body tends to conform itself into a pocketlike space and once in place, it takes more of an effort to reposition the body. Much like the softness factor described above, this could be good for some and bad for others. Those who tend to toss and turn all night and wake up their spouse in the process will like this feature, but others might find it too restricting. I have found that, rather then freely rolling from my side to my back, like I did on my regular mattress, I now have to use a little more muscle power to make the transition.

So, what is my bottom line on this Serta mattress topper? Well, for all of the reasons states above, I can see how some will love it and others will curse its name. I don't necessarily sleep any better than before but I like the way the gel beads help to disperse heat and my wife says it does help her sleep better. It adds up to an average product overall that will likely invoke strong reactions from all who use it.

I was doubtful at first that this product, tho costly, would actually work. To my surprise, it not only works, but works wonderfully! Our king size mattress (pillow top) set is only two years old but has sinking spots where we lay. This product has eliminated the dips, plus increased the comfort ofthe bed. My wife suffers from back pain every day, but the mattress topper has totally eliminated that problem. I do find it harder to "roll over" (age 63)in bed (because you tend to form fit to the topper), but I sleep much better and feel more rested then before. Did I think the product expensive: yes. Would I buy one again: DEFINITELY!! Is it worth the expense: It's priceless for us. It does add 3 inches to the bed height, so you may have a problem "climbing" into bed. but a little old fashion "foot stool" takes care of that. Well worth the cost after the first few days of adjusting to it. Other have complained of the initial smell....we had none! We just opened the box, unrolled it onto the bed, (we left the packing cover on it)fitted the top sheet and made the bed....the rest is history. We love it, love it, love it!!!! Spend the money on yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Yesterday my Serta 2.5-Inch Queen Gel-Memory Foam Mattress Topper arrived. This thing is great! I couldn't be happier with it and just wish I had bought it sooner.

I think it's the GEL that makes the difference.

I appreciated the fact that the cover that goes over the mattress topper isn't at all difficult to put on. I didn't have to struggle with it at all! It easily went over the mattress topper and the regular mattress underneath.

I got the mattress topper out of the box, placed it on the bed, etc. By the time I got in bed last night I had almost forgotten that anything was new or different. A few minutes later I realized I wasn't tossing and turning the way I normally do. I just felt more 'comfortable' than usual. There was a 'cool' feel to it. I'm not really sure how or why, but it felt cooler than my old mattress topper, which is memory foam, but not the Gel-Memory Foam. I slept great! It felt as if I were just sinking into a cloud. Very nice!

That's the subjective part of it. Now down to the specifics.I had read reports from other reviewers that their mattress topper had an odor when it arrived. Mine had no odor. I put my nose right next to it and sniffed. I could smell no odor at all. It may depend on the weather or other variables.

As usual, I read the instructions AFTER I was finished. Not smart. Fortunately, I was very, very careful as I cut the packaging.

It comes in a vacuum-sealed bag, which you open very carefully with a pair of scissors, being VERY cautious not to cut the foam. There is a protective fabric liner on the mattress topper. That also helped keep me from cutting the foam, which you certainly do not want to do. That part was easy!

The mattress topper weighs about 33 lbs, but wasn't very hard to toss onto my bed. I let it "air out" and expand for a few hours before I put the cover on it. Mine had no crimping. It lay flat with no problem. The cover was easy to stretch over the mattress topper and the mattress below. I was able to put my fitted sheet over it with no more problem than usual. That went easier than I had anticipated.

The instructions say that "You may notice an odor when the package is opened. This is completely harmless and normal for 'fresh foam' and will gradually dissipate within a few days." Mine had no detectable odor at all, and I'm fairly sensitive to odors.

The instructions say "You might notice loose gel beads. These micro gel beads are infused into the Gel Memory Foam, and occasionally fall out." Mine did not fall out. I didn't notice any loose gel beads.

The instructions say, "It may take up to 72 hours for the topper to fully expand and recover to its original shape. It is fine to sleep on your mattress topper during the recovery process as your body heat will actually promote recovery." Mine expanded almost instantly and was fine.

The instructions talk about "Do not put anything on top of your mattress topper or on the corners to force it to lay flat. The edges of the mattress topper may appear crimped. This is normal and the edges will regain their natural form during the recovery process." Mine didn't have that problem. There was no crimping. Everything lay flat immediately.

It says that "Most customers feel comfortable on the first night...Others may take a few weeks..." I was MORE than comfortable on the first night.

I love it!

A week after getting it, I couldn't be happier with my mattress topper. I am definitely sleeping better because of it. If I had to put a number to it, I would say that I am sleeping 30% better. I ordered and just got the Gel-Infused Memory Foam Pillows. I thought if the mattress topper is that good, the pillows have to be too. They are taking a little more time to get used to, but the instructions say that it can take 24-48 hours for a pillow to renew itself. I'll write a review on the pillows, but I'm going to give them a little more time to get used to them.

UPDATE about 8 months later: The mattress topper is wonderful! I never did get used to the pillows.

I have a tiled shower with a rack hanging beneath the shower head to hold shampoo and soap. However, I was tired of the dripping shower head wasting away the soap and dripping it on the knob and floor. So, I wanted a free standing dish in bronze to go with my fixtures. This is beautiful for a soap dish. I like that it stands like a pedestal. Better still, the plastic holder is removeable and can go in the dishwasher to scour away soap scum. This is a bit heavy and stands without worry of accidentally knocking it over. Looks great on the seat in our shower stall. Worth the price.

This would have received 5 starts had it arrived in one piece, but it was broken in two at the spot where the dish meets the pedestal. The satin nickel sheen is very nice, and the dish insert, while made of some kind of synthetic material, looks very nice like milk glass. I will probably just crazy glue the base and dish back together. I believe the reason it arrived broken is because of the shoddy way it was packed for shipping. It was in an amazon box with two little inflated plastic pillows, and with plenty of room for the thing to be thrown around the box during shipping. You'd think Amazon would know better. If you can order this directly from Taymor, you might have a better shot at receiving it intact. The actual product is very nice.

It was perfect for my bathroom. My bathroom sink has a brass ring around it and this just enhances it. (even the rim of the soap dish is brass), The soap is held by a piece of well made thick plastic which can be removed and cleaned. The other feature that I like is the soap dish hangs over part of the sink. It's heavy enough so it won't tip over it you bump up against it. My old soap holder is attached to the wall next to the sink and I was contantly keeping it clean. This is a breeze to keep clean and the only thing I was missing on this purchase was a mask!

OK, second time I received a defective product from amazon. Too bad the product actually looks nice. I got two of these.. the other one came broken. I am going to return it since I do not think it can be fixed with super glue. The material is sturdy and heavy except for the plastic dish on top. We weren't sure whether to order this comforter because there weren't any reviews. We're very happy we did. We were looking for a really lightweight comforter to put into our duvet cover. This is very lightweight the package seemed a bit bigger than a standard pillow (we got a king size). I washed it and dried it in a normal washer and dryer, and it turned out beautifully. We like the way it looks so much that we're using it without a duvet cover right now! It is sort of silky to the touch, and gives our bedroom a hotel look. I'm so happy that I found such a bargain! Hope this helps someone else make up their mind.

Update: Nov. 2012, We've had our comforter for quite a while now, and we still love it. It's been washed tons of times and we haven't had any problems. It's like new. I like the loop things for our duvet cover that are in the corners. We mainly are too lazy to put it in the duvet cover though. One thing I want to add is that we got the king for our queen bed because I like it to hang over the sides. Plus, no playing tug-of-war with the covers at night. I highly recommend this comforter!

I replaced another "year around" weight (they claimed) duvet insert from Natural Comfort with this one, and it's a perfect weight without being too hot. (The other one was too hot even in February in San Francisco around 45-50 degrees at night, and I thought it would have been much better at a snowed in cabin at around 20-30 degrees.)

Why they call this a blanket, I don't know. It even has cords at each corner to tie duvet cover corners to. It's also not pretty enough to be a blanket, but it's a FANTASTIC duvet insert. The perfect weight. I can't imagine anyone wouldn't love it.

9-21-2012 I have now washed & dryed the comforters and I can not believe how

nice they washed up & dryed. I washed on the normal cycle (WARM WATER) and dryed on the perma-press cycle

and put them right back on the beds. They looked just perfect.

Based on the picture of two pillows tied together, I purchased this product expecting two sham stuffer pillows. I was quite surprised when I received my shipment and only received one pillow. I am taking the time to write this review to prevent some other person from making this mistake. This price is great for two pillows but not for one pillow. I plan to go to Walmart next week and purchase two king pillows for a more reasonable price. Leggett & Platt Home Textiles 78FP102 Display Pillow Sham Stuffer, King. Ok, Amazon wants me to review the king sized sham stuffer pillows we purchased. Here goes:

They were pillows. They were king sized, and they fit just fine inside king sized shams.

You don't sleep on shams, so I have no idea how soft they are.

For some time I searched for pillows for my King size Shams however, much to my disappointment all of the ones I found were too expensive to push inside a pillow sham...until! Yes, these are awesome. They are even good to sleep on as well. Yippee!

I purchased these sham stuffers because I wanted a more full look to my king shams than I got from regular pillows. Inserts like this are are used for this reason and typically are very plump and firm. These were anemic and were less plump than my regular pillows. The shams looked pitiful and deflated with these "stuffers" in them. I should have read the reviews before buying because this has been reported by others in their reviews. Restoration Hardware has very nice sham inserts though they are much more expensive. I guess you get what you pay for.

These pillows have a very cheap filling but besides that, the pillows have a grey stripe on them which you can easily see thru once the cover is on. It looked awful so I had to return. Only order these if the cover you're using is thick and not a sheer at all
