Sona Pillow for Snoring and Mild Sleep Apnea

Brookstone's SONA anti-snoring pillow really makes a difference. I've been told that I snore loudly when I sleep--by some friends sleeping over who were not exactly happy about it. Anyway, I shopped around and I found this pillow; and it makes all the difference in the world.

It does take some getting used to; the shape of the pillow is downright bizarre the first few times you simply glance at it. However, it manages to keep my head, neck and even my jaw at just the proper angles so that I don't snore and any overnight guests can actually get a night's sleep! I've even been told that I snore so loud that I could wake the dead--but when I use this pillow my overnight guests never complain to me the next morning. The best way to use it is to sleep on your side with your head between one of the two "resting places" as shown in the picture up above on this webpage.

It comes with one pillowcase but if you like this pillow I would get at least one extra pillowcase. In my particular case it's preferable to my having surgery to correct a problem that might cause me to snore; but ask your doctor to find out what's best for you.

As far as sleep apnea is concerned, you should definitely discuss this with your doctor. Sleep apnea can be serious. You can always research sleep apnea on the web, but there's no substitute for discussing this with a doctor who knows your particular circumstances very well.

Overall, this pillow is terrific for me and I highly recommend it for anyone who has a problem with snoring (it can drive even the most loyal of spouses crazy). This pillow can also help people with mild sleep apnea as long as their doctor approves of it for that use.

I have a CPAP--on a top shelf in my closet. I have a dental device for apnea--on a top shelf in my medicine cabinet. I'm not good at sticking to things. I bought this pillow at full price having seen it recommended in a magazine like Prevention, I think. First 3 or 4 nights, I hated it. I paid a lot for it, however, and for a change kept at it. Now I don't want to sleep without it. It works for me--lots of support and the stiff neck subsided. I like the angle at which it keeps my head. If you get it, be SURE you read how to use it. I'd recommend it, although like other things for mild apnea, it takes practice. I don't know if I still snore because my partner can't stay awake long enough to listen!

I was skeptical but bought this pillow after my snoring started causing problems waking my fiance up. My fiance could not sleep with my snoring. I was exploring surgical options. I bought the pillow and after a few days of getting used to it, I am sleeping well on it. My snoring has been eliminated on most nights. I have mixed feelings about this pillow, but am still using it so far, so I guess you'd call this a preliminary (and tentatively positive) report after about two weeks. First, it does seem to help with the snoring, although since in my case it's an intermittent allergy-driven problem, I can't swear yet that it's the pillow. Certainly it's very firm, and a little hard to get comfortable on at first, but never so bad that it kept me awake, and improves after a few days of getting used to it. The only real trouble is the stiff neck in the morning, since it's a stretch from the bed to the top of the pillow.

At this point, I'm not sure it was worth the money for me, but you might want to try it if snoring is a serious and consistent problem, because it does seem to help.

I bought this pillow after reading a review in the WSJ about a year ago. My father has always been a notorious snorer and I dreaded the thought of my wife suffering the same plight as my Mom has.

My wife mocked me at first -"it looks like the Flying Nun's habit." (and it does). But we have throw pillows that mask the pillows shape nicely now and the aesthetics have been fine once we figured out that trick.

I received this today and could not have been more disappointed when I pulled it all out of the bag.

1. The "12-piece super set" I believed I was getting was ACTUALLY an 8 piece comforter set by Venetto (A part of Victorian Collections) made in China and some random blue 4 piece King sheet set (the picture on Amazon had white ones) made in Pakistan by Forenza that did not match or even appear to come close to matching the comforter set.

2. The picture does not look as if this is a Sateen type of material. I slightly blame myself for not enquiring what type of material it is however, since it is not listed in the product description. It feels and looks very CHEAP.

3. I put it onto my standard king bed which is (76"x80") and it did not even cover the sides of the mattress/box spring. I checked the tag thinking they sent me a Queen but it was a King and had dimensions of (101"x86"). However when I measured it myself the ACTUAL measurement of the comforter was (94"x84") so I had only 4 in. in length to "tuck in" (not possible) or hang free, which would not cover the mattress and only 9 in. covering both sides which left 4 in. exposed of box spring on either side!

All in all I give this ZERO stars as it's a compete lie from start to finish and don't know how it had such great reviews... which is why I bought this in the first place!

I love the colors on this set. The thread count is appropriate. Not too warm in the summer & not to cold in the winter. Like all Queens there just isn't enough hanging down on the sides. I would like to find a set where I don't play pull the blanket to my side every night just my little complaint.

The Gifiti Lap Desk is very sturdy in design.

The neoprene cover keeps my laptop from sliding even at steep angles when I laying down.

Before, I would just have to reposition when I feel my laptops' hot vent.

Now, I have this deck that I can lay my 15.6" Gateway Laptop on to protect my thighs and more importantly, my gonads!

The lap desk actually felt slightly heftier than I expected, the aluminum core seems to think enough to prevent any heat from seeping through.

There is virtually no bend with this product, which shows me that it is a quality product. The neoprene fabrication does also feel very high quality.

With my laptop sitting at the very front of the lap desk I have about a 1 and a half inch space in the back, which is great!

If you're working from home and you have a 15.6" or larger laptop, I would recommend getting the 17" size just because of the extra size.

If you're planning to do some commuting, I would recommend buying the 13" or 15" version just for the added portability.

Usage as a writing desk is pretty good as well!

Works like a large clipboard, however, you should be careful not to poke any holes through the paper!

In conclusion:

As a student that regularly uses their computer as well as write paper by hand, this is a must have.

I can now sit or lay down in a comfortable position without risking frying my thigh or gonads.

Excellent product, very high quality, I know that this will last me for a long long time.

I bought this pillow due to waking up with cricks in my neck. I saw an orthopedist and went to physical therapy for my neck but nothing helped like this pillow did. The pillow helps keep my neck straight. I used to toss and turn in the night now I sometimes adjust the pillow but go right back to bed. The "hump" is perfect for me, a petite woman, but it also works for my 6' husband.

It takes a few weeks to get it broken in and softer and the chemical smell went away. Another downside is orthopedist I went to did not suggest a contour pillow. My physical therapist said I may benefit from one and I chose this one on my own.

The pillow is very heavy, so if you move around at night the pillow will not move with you. I have neck and back problems and I think this pillow gave me headaches. I think you should talk to your doctor before spending this much money on a pillow in hopes it will work out for you. It may be the best thing for other people, I just know its NOT the right choice for me. :o(

Horizons 300-Thread-Count Cotton Pillow Case Set

I loved these sheets so much that I ordered another set to keep around for when the first ones wear out. Dog hair doesnt stick to them and they fit the bed wonderfully

the fabric is unexpectedly nice in these inexpensive pillowcases: very soft but not flimsy; as is the muted color and soft, mottled "print". But the cutting is so off-grain that once washed the seams are all twisted and the hems "bunched"; they would have to be ironed to fold flat or lay flat on the pillow. I'd consider them "seconds" (which I have purchased at "linen outlets" before... maybe I should have expected that for the price. If they hold up after multiple washings, I might even purchase more, as I am unwilling to spend what seems absurd amounts of money on pillowcases, but I wish the manufacturing quality had been higher. The price is definitely good: they'll work for everyday use for me. I don't think I'd use them on the guest bed.

I've chronic pain for many years now. My neck and back pain have been made worse by unsuitable pillows.

I tried all kinds feathered pillow, contoured pillow, synthetic pillow, micro bead pillow, memory foam pillow, and etc enough to open a pillow museum :)

All these pillows gave me bad neck/shoulder/back pain or migraines. I felt exhausted and painful the next morning from all the tossing and turning during the night. Couldn't get much sleep. My neck & back felt so disjointed and sprained.

I decided to give Pillo1 a try after reading about its innovative design customized to fit a person's height and size. I got the SMALL size pillow according to my height. (See Amazon product description for size details)

It's takes about 2-3 weeks to get adjusted to the new pillow. This pillow works well for side and back sleepers. The curve of my neck was well supported for both positions. The pillow is surprisingly soft, but it is nothing like the soft memory foam pillow which leaves a deep dent after prolonged pressure. Pillo1 is soft, light and bouncy with surprising great neck support. Feels like you are sleeping on a well-padded marshmallow :)

Overall my sleep is better. It's the beginning of my 3rd week, my pain has gotten a little lesser.

Important Tip:

Pillo1 has a unique designed "hole" in the center of the pillow. (Most people are comfortable with the "hole" height of the original pillow)

For me, I didn't feel comfortable with the original "hole" height.

I contacted Pillo1 and Dr. Hall gave me a tip that made all the difference adding towels in the center "hole" to elevate the height of the foam insert until I found the comfort height that worked for me.

Note: (I added towels by folding small face towels into the "hole" by opening the zipper at the back of the pillow. Folded towels at the bottom, insert foam on top. Zip the pillow back and cover it with a King Size pillowcase). I gradually added more towels until I got the right height.

In my case, the secret to making the pillow work for me was finding the right height elevation in the center "hole".

I bought Pillo1 well over a year ago, it took me a few nights to get use to its unique design, but once I did I slept better and my neck feels great. I'd been having such a problem getting comfortable at night I had been designing the perfect pillow in my mind, when I saw the pillo1 I saw the design was very similar to what I'd been thinking about so I ordered one right away. Best purchase I've made for a good nights sleep. I am mainly a side sleeper and the firmer sides work perfectly and keep my head tilted slightly back so I don't have my face buried in the pillow. The latex used to make this pillow is a natural product and much healthier than memory foam and doesn't get as hot.Make sure you order the correct size based on your height listed on the pillo1 website. That may be why John Doe didn't like his pillo1, if he bought the small as indicated it would be too small unless he is under 5'2".

After a few weeks of owning these pillows, they have gone flat and are shedding feathers like crazy. They are not comfortable to sleep on any more since the feather quills poke out of the pillow case and into your face. There is no way the ratio of down to feather is 95% to 5%. I would not recommend these pillows at all.

Ordered these pillows because of the 100 percent down. These are absolutely not 100 percent. They are scratchy and shed feathers (which they shouldn't have any of).

It's difficult to find nice black sheets, so I was thrilled to find these and in a 1200 thread count on top of it! I put white vinegar in the first wash to set the color and it's held fast. these sheets are very soft, at the same time heavy. they are also comfortable to crawl into bed at the end of a long day. the black is a nice deep, dark black, so i was pleased that it was as advertised. my only complaint is that they get extremely wrinkled after taking them out of the dryer, i'm not sure if all high thread count sheets do this, but i guess i will invest in an iron.

i experienced great customer service shopping though this retailer, my sheets got lost in transit upon leaving the warehouse, and i notified the vendor about the delay i was experiencing and he was very prompt and immediately reshipped my package. A+

Summary: This sheet set falls incredibly short of 1200 Thread Count (TC) sheets. But what I despised most was that these Black sheets are a magnet for dust and other dirt particles. The sheets look horrible and dirty even after a washing. These sheets do not compare to any of my other 1000+ Thread Count sheets. They are simply too light to have the required thread count density.

The new sheet set did NOT have the weight or stiffness typical of new high thread count sheets. In fact, when I held the bed sheet up in a sunlit room, I could see through it. It was more of a veil then a bed sheet. I am sure that they are not lying (I like to believe in humanity) about the 1200 TC, it is just not calculated as we expect. While I am no expert on sheet density, I think these sheets could be single ply thread spun into 600 by 600 square inch [(600+600)*1=1200]; or it could be 2-ply thread spun into 300 by 300 sq inch; or 3-ply thread spun into 200 by 200 sq inch; or 4-ply thread spun into 150 by 150 sq inch; and etc. Sure this satisfies the marketing claim but it is no 1200 TC sheet for customer's who know what to expect. In my opinion, the sheets seem comparable to other 200-300 thread count sheets I have bought at a fraction of the cost of these sheets.

Since, I am a typical man and do not return items, I used the 1200 THREAD COUNT QUEEN BLACK SOLID EGYPTIAN COTTON SHEET SET BRAND NEW 1200 THREAD COUNTsheets. Then I noticed how, everyday, more dust and threads from my blanket were sticking to the sheets. It seemed like I bought a very large Swifter sheet. So I washed them, and now they look like they have Chicken Pox. There are little fur balls everywhere. I do not want to put the sheets on my bed for fear of coughing up a fur ball every morning. So this set is useless now. Also, I found the pillow cases to fit tightly for my standard feather pillows.

A positive note is that these light sheets are great on warm nights.

I bought them to stuff two nice decorative pillowcases. Although they are a bit thinner than what I would have liked, they do the trick and ordering from here saved me to have to go to the shops during the first days my baby was home.
