Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper

I own a Tempurpedic mattress, which is my bed at home. I also own the Sleep Better 2-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen, which I used on top of an Aerobed 18in Raised Queen Premium Guest Bed, Queen and slept on 4 nights per week for a few months to save commuting to San Francisco. I now also own the Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen, which I'm using atop a friend's regular mattress that's otherwise like sleeping on a slab of granite.

First off, the foam for the Sleep Better mattress toppers is not the same as the brand name Tempurpedic foam. The Tempurpedic foam is significantly more dense, meaning: 1) it takes a bit longer to respond to your weight / body heat; 2) it gives you significantly more support; and 3) it takes a bit longer to recover when you move.

I actually slightly prefer the 2" topper on the Aerobed to my $1200 Tempurpedic mattress [boy, do I hate to say that!]. The 3" topper on the granite-like mattress is good, but is my least favored combination.

The 3" topper is too soft and too thick. I sink so deeply into it that it's actually some effort to roll over at night. I got used to it after a few nights, and no longer wake up to roll, but I found it annoying. It's certainly not a bad experience. If I hadn't tried the other 2 options, and was only comparing it to sleeping on the granite mattress from h*ll, I would've been thrilled with it. But knowing what the other options are like, it's my least favored of 3 good choices.

The Tempurpedic is a fantastic mattress, and I'll certainly keep it as my primary bed. My only niggling complaint is that, being temperature sensitive, my sleeping experience is different in summer vs. winter. In the hottest month of summer, the mattress is just a bit too soft, and my back isn't optimally supported. In the coldest month of winter, the mattress is a bit too hard. It does soften up after I've been in it for a few minutes, but it's noticeable when you first get in it.

I really like the combination of the Aerobed and the 2" topper. The Aerobed let me adjust the overall firmness of the mattress and provided all the support. But the tufting of the Aerobed results in deep divots in the surface, which are not comfortable. The 2" topper smoothed out the divots and provided excellent cushioning, without being so deep that I sunk into it and lost the mattress's support.

The brand name Tempurpedic products are definitely superior to all competitors I've tried, so if you can afford them, go for it. If not, the Sleep Better products are good options. I recommend the 2" topper over 3". It's more comfortable, cheaper, and your sheets fit more easily.

I purchased this Mattress Topper over a year ago now and I still love it. It is very soft and adds the right amount of support for my aching back. Two things I am not happy about; the first is when you unroll it from the box it comes in; it has a terrible chemical odor. It does fade in about 3 weeks but can be strong for people with sensitivity to smells. It did fade and I would recommend dealing with it if you can. The second problem which isn't a real biggie is the color of the foam starts to turn yellow over time. Now, I don't know if it's because I sleep with an electric blanket all the time and it is adding to the color change but it is happening. But who really cares if it's being covered with sheets and blankets anyway right?

Over all I am very happy with the added comfort and for the price it is so worth it. Getting cozy in a warm foamy bed...ahhh nothing better.

This is definitely my best purchase of 2005! I only wish I had purchased this sooner. I now get the best sleep of my life, I no longer suffer from hip pain in the a.m. and I feel warm and comfortable like I'm in a cocoon. One of the biggest complaints of memory foam is that it DOES absorb your body heat, which means you will be warmer when you sleep on this rather than directly on your mattress. I live in Florida, so that just means adjusting my thermostat and using a ceiling fan. It is a bit warmer, but not to the point where you sweat. It DOES smell of chemicals when you first open it. Just let it sit out for a day or two until the chemical smell disappears. That happens with all memory foam mattress toppers. This one IS about 1-2" short, but do your feet need memory foam? Do your feet extend to the very tip of your bed? Mine don't... the missing inch or two just means your sheets fit better. Best of all, this memory foam topper is not an environment where dust mites (or bed bugs) can live so it WILL help allergy sufferers greatly! I would especially recommend this to anyone on bed rest, anyone in the hospital, elderly people (they tend to have joint problems), allergy suffers, those with asthma, and ANYONE wanting the best nights sleep of their life! This mattress topper will improve any mattress and I cannot imagine not having it. I will be buying one for each of my children this month as I am finally convinced of the benefits of memory foam!

This made our king bed feel very much like a thermarest mattress. It is very comfortable and we are glad we went with at least 3 inches. The biggest problem is that the pad is rolled up for shipping and this hurts the shape of the pad. It does not fully reach the sides of our mattress. Although it has stretched out more over the past couple of weeks, it is still coming up short. Since we don't sleep on the edges, it doesn't affect the performance but my wife doesn't like how it looks.

I am pleased with the addition of this memory foam mattress to my bed. You sink (only slightly) into bed and it feels very comfortable. Other complaints on this page are valid it does stink (though it goes away after a couple days) and it is a bit short (which does help the sheets fit better). I'd say for the price it is one of the best deals out there.

These would be a great value except for skimping on the button closures. Placing them too far apart puts extra strain on them and the buttons tend to break off. Still, it's better than nothing. If you need a reasonably functional duvet cover, this will do.

Also, the duvet inside tends to slip out even when all buttons are working, making the bed a mess to sleep in. Constantly readjusting the duvet cover is a bother. Putting 2 to 4 more buttons in, would make the closure work so much better. I've used button-closed covers that did much better than this one. Or, the entire piece could be improved with a zipper or velcro.

In "saving" money by using as few buttons and as few button holes as possible, what could be a four or five star product becomes something just "good enough". It's cumbersome and inefficient as it is, making bed hygiene + decent aesthetics more difficult than necessary. To keep a duvet reasonably clean, the cover should stay better in place and be more simple to put on/remove, thus allowing for frequent changing.

Why not improve it and have happy consumers instead of annoyed ones? This is a poor trade-off between satisfaction and utility vs. labor and materials. All that said, it will do, and cotton beats polyester. You can fix it by buying and hand-sewing snaps (what a pain).

We tried a sleep number bed about a year ago, due to my stiffness and pain in almost every joint when waking up. I had high hopes for it, but it didn't help at all, mostly because the two sides of the bed weren't truly independant; it went from soft to firm depending on whether my husband was in bed on his side or not. Even the dog climbing up on the bed changed the firmness of my side! I got so tired of waking up in pain I was in tears, and desperately wanted to get a temperpedic bed instead. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford one, especially after having bought the sleep number bed less than a year ago. So we got this 4" foam topper, cranked the pressure on both sides of the sleep number mattress (to make an even, equally firm surface) and put the topper on it. It's been a miracle for me. I don't wake up in tears, I don't wake up in the middle of the night at all anymore. No more Advil breakfasts either! And best of all it cost a fraction of what a temperpedic bed costs.

Don't get me wrong, if I had the $$ the sleep number bed would be out the door and I'd get a new memory foam bed altogether; but for now even this is soooo much better. For the first time in years I'm sleeping good, and waking up pain-free. And happier too.

I have purchased many matress pads and toppers over the years and this is the best yet. It is comparable in comfort to one of the heavy (and much more expensive) memory foam ones, but is very lightweight and easy for me to manage by myself, even with arthritic hands. Money is tight and I hesitated to get this right now, but it was worth every penny. No backache and no neck pain from the very first morning. I am over 60 and not such a lightweight myself and would highly recommend the 4 inch topper. I shopped around and this was a good price (about $125 for a twin size). It arrived quickly and I was able to sleep on it the same day it arrived no time was needed for the foam to relax after unrolling it and no smell or odor at all like some of these toppers seem to have for the first while. It really is quite cool to sleep on, but not cold, so don't let that discourage you if you are considering the Sleep Studio Ventilated Topper. I couldn't be happier with this product and if anything ever happens to it I will rush to replace it with another just like it!

This enhancer is a great product except for the fact that it takes time to adjust to sleeping on it. The foam is quite stiff when you first lay on it. It than begins to form to your body and feels quite nice. However, when you move you have to hold your position the way you want it while the foam rebounds and takes your new position. As for the ventilation, it works very well. You remain at a normal temp all night and not over heating at night with the sweats like non ventilated memory foam mattresses do. Overall a great product, but a learning curve is included.

I'm deployed in Afghanistan right now, and the mattesses that are available to us usually leave much to be desired. Half the time I wonder if it wouldn't be better to throw a sheet on some plywood and sleep on that. If you find one that doesn't have any springs poking through the fabric, it's a keeper...

So, on the basis of that, it didn't take too much for this mattress topper to be probably one of the things I looked most forward to arriving here. Even with , it took less than 2 weeks to get all the way over here, not bad. It only took 3-4 hours for the topper to expand to it's normal size once I unwrapped it. So I slept on it the first night, and have been enjoying it for the last couple weeks. I just sink right in, and hardly toss and turn at all. No need to shift around to find that space between the springs where there is tolerable comfort, just roll into my favorite position and stay.

Pros: Excellent comfort, no more pressure points

No tossing and turning, if you're not sleeping, it's not because you're not comfortable

Haven't woke up on the wrong side of the bed yet.

Cons: Even with the ventilation, it is definitely warmer than the normal mattress. Summer might be difficult over here.

A little softer than I would like, though I think it's also because of the U-shape that my mattress is providing also...

Conclusion: If you're having comfort problems with your mattress, spend a lot less than a new mattress on this and sleep well again!

This is my first experience owning a mattress topper. I had slept on pillow top toppers at friends' houses and hotels and loved those, but had also heard good things about memory foam toppers. At first this cushion seemed to do the job, but after a few weeks the cushion bottomed out flat. It does not retain its' shape. I weigh 180, so I think I may do better with a thicker cushion with less give. And now my tailbone still hurts. The sellers here are great but this product just didn't do it for me. I bought this mainly because I have lower back pain if I sit too long or not sit up straight in the car.

First I must tell you, this does not work (for me), at least not in my car. (I have a smaller Honda Civic). And here is why I don't like it.

(1) The construction of this seat cushion is nothing other than an uneven seat pad with a hole in the middle. With literally just a piece of cheap foam inside. Very soft and there is no support at all, especially when I only weight around 140 lb. After 3 weeks of daily using in the car, the seat cushion is already in bad shape.

(2) The size of this seat cushion is too small to cover the entire car seat, hence it shifts around every minute of the ride. Every time I get out, I almost drag it off the seat (unavoidable). That means everytime I get in the car, I have to adjust the cushion again to be able to sit properly. That is getting annoying and tiring.

Overall, I do not see or experience any of the features being described, regarding their "special" design. Not worth the money (I paid $18 at a local store) and I am going to look for something else. Meanwhile my back is still suffering.

There wasn't anything I liked about this bookholder at all. It's much bigger than I realized, the fabric is not "soft" feeling andthe worst part is the filling makes crunchy noises which is bothersome when reading alone or at night with another person next to you trying to sleep! The acrylic holder also kept falling flat and wouldn't hold my kindle without me using an extra hand. Tried it with a book as well, but then you have problems turning the pages and keeping them behind the acrylic piece. I discovered using a SQUSH pillow works much better and I can move it to any shape depending on the position I need it in. WHen I travel, the MEdge flexible stand is the greatest! As always kudos to Amazon for fast delivery and easy returns as there was no way I was going to keep it.

Samsonite Luggage Inflatable Neck Pillow with Cover

Finally decided a travel pillow would be a good purchase with a long trip looming. I bought four different pillows to compare. One I ordered from China for $2 (with ear plugs and eye cover on eBay), one was the Lewis N. Clark travel pillow available here on Amazon (~$14), one was the cheaper $7 Samsonite travel pillow available here, and the last was this Samsonite pillow with cover for $12. I'll preface this review to say that I've only tested these at home in airplane-like chairs; I have not flown with them yet.

The $2 pillow actually wasn't terrible. If you were careful with it chances are it would work fine. It's a little small, and no washable cover. It is some kind of vinyl or PVC that they coat or spray with something like velour to give it a somewhat fabric-like texture. For $2, not bad in a pinch and it uses a pinch valve for air insertion (you pinch, squeeze, or bite the valve together partially and then blow in it to inflate it). The $7 Samsonite pillow is essentially identical to the cheap pillow I got from China, except Samsonite put their name on the side of the pillow. Otherwise no different. Really. $5 more for their name. Needless to say, no reason to get this one. My last choice of the four.

The Samsonite pillow from this page that includes the removable cover for $12 isn't bad. It is definitely of better quality than the two cheapies. The air bladder is better built, and a removable cover is always nice. It also has a little pocket on it that you can stick an iPod and earphones into, or keep earplugs in. It is also a little bigger than the other two. I'm not a fan of the material they used on the cover (I would also suggest avoiding the Pagoda Blue color as well, which is what I have here). It's kind of a velvet material. It reminds me of a material that a young child would think was great. It is very soft, but it doesn't remind me of sheets or a regular pillow at all, and I wonder how that material will look after it is used and washed a few times. But this is really just my personal preference; perhaps you would like it better. To put air in this pillow you have to unzip the cover and get to the pinch valve, same type as the ones above. This is kind of a pain, and you will have to do this again to deflate. But otherwise this pillow is perfectly functional, and again, of somewhat better quality than the first two.

The Lewis N. Clark adjustable pillow is a little more money (I paid $14), but I quickly decided that if one isn't going ultra-cheap, it is the pillow of choice. It has several advantages. It is a little bigger. It has an agreeable and removable (and therefore washable) fabric cover. It also includes a little case to stuff it into. But best of all, it inflates in like two seconds literally. No little pinch valve to pull out. Instead you pull off a cover over about a 1" diameter valve and blow into it. One or two blows, depending on your lung capacity, and it's full. And once you fill it up you can adjust the firmness quickly just by pushing the little button at the back of the valve opening. I'm not sure how well I'm describing this, but just know that this system really works well. Near instant inflation and adjustment of firmness to your liking. It is much better than the pillows that have the little pinch valve. It is enough better that even a cheapskate like me is going to pay the extra money for it.

All of these pillows are of essentially the same type shapewise, although their size varies a little. I can't help with comparisons to the long, thin pillows that you wear across your body. I don't fly enough to justify the expense of those type of pillows.

What I cannot comment on yet is the durability of any of these products. However, my impression looking at the pillows initially is that all of them should be handled with care. I would expect the two cheapest to be least durable, and the Lewis N. Clark to be the best. I will be keeping the Lewis N. Clark and the cheapy $2 pillow. If I have any issues I will update this review. I will also post this review at the other product pages for the items from Amazon.

I recently used this pillow on a 2-week trip on 8 plane flights and it performed wonderfully. The bite valve is a common one; if you haven't used it before it could be frustrating. Just pinch the valve at the base to blow in or to release the air. You can see a flap inside the valve so you may have to rotate your pinch a 1/4 turn to fully open it. Press down with the other hand while pinching the valve and it deflates easily. I roll it up and put a rubber band around it to travel with. Also, do not inflate it fully at first. As the plane ascends, the pillow will puff up even more. The bladder itself seems a little thin compared to other inflatable pillows that I've had and I'm afraid it would pop if inflated too fully at first. Also, I find that a slightly deflated pillow is often more comfortable if the airplane seat is too tall, so your head isn't tilted too far forward. The fabric on the outside it very soft and well-sewn. I would buy it again.

I should start by saying that I have only tried this at home so I haven't really used it for travel yet. I will update this review after I come back from the holidays.

I have to admit that it took me a few minutes to figure out what to do to inflate it quickly. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. Well, apparently, you have to press the bottom of the valve to open the anti-leak thingy. There are no instructions so I'll blame it on that :) Once I managed to inflate it, I tested it out on my couch and it seemed very soft and comfortable and it even has a little pocket for your mp3 player. Be aware though that some people might not be able to get it on them if they inflate it too much since the neck opening is sort of small.

Update:

So after using this pillow on a long flight and its wonderful! I really like it and would highly recommend it! Easy to inflate and deflate!

Beautiful color. Very soft and cushy. Inflatable feature really helps with storage and adjusting size as cabin becomes pressurized. The only problem is that the valve has a shut off flap that has to be stabbed in order to fill with air. I used a coffee straw but have to keep on replacing it because it bends from the force needed to push open the flap.

OPTP # 702 The Original Mckenzie Lumbar Roll - Firm Density

I have been having lower back pain due to extended sitting during the day and my physical therapist recommended getting a lumbar roll in addition to doing my stretches and exercises. I wasn't sure which one to get, but this one fit the size dimensions she had recommended. When I first started using the Mckenzie Lumbar Roll I found myself fighting with it because it was extremely firm. I also found it difficult to use on the metro because of the train jerks around so much. However, my physical therapist checked it out and said it was a really good lumbar roll and since then I have found it to be very helpful for my back. I used on a plane trip to and from Chicago and during a week long conference and didn't experience my usual aches. As long as you are willing to work through the initial difficulties of getting used to it, I think this is a very worthwhile product to complement stretches and exercises for lower back pain.

The Lumbar roll is a good product however I ordered a firm one and it is way too hard. It's difficult to adjust the roll to your lumbar area because it's so hard.

I would not order firm but the middle density.

I use this product in a completely different way: length-wise along the spine for heavenly relief. Place the roll on the floor or a firm mattress and align your spine along the roll. Better than a professional massage. I take a 15 minute rest twice a day and hate to get up ! Your shoulder blades fall to each side in a perfect alignment. Try it, you'll like it. I am searching for 16-18" which would be even more effective.

I've got a bad back and the lumbar roll I keep in my car recently, well, rolled out without my knowing. I tried several different more expensive products to replace it, and then went to a local Joanna's Bed and Back store. One of these was twice as expensive there, so I ordered several from The Therapy Connection at HPMS, Inc.

First off, I got them BEFORE Amazon's earliest estimate as to when I'd get it -so it was amazingly fast and accurate service (I'd definitely buy from them again).

Secondly, I put one on my writing chair last night and I could finally sit in it again! These things are wonderful and just what I need to be able to sit upright for hours. (The chair is a Lazy Boy, and this is the first one of these I've had on it with a strap long enough to go around. It's a very adjustable strap and I'm sure it'll work with the various chairs I need it to work with.)

Now I just have to decide whether the standard or firm works best for me in which chair.

We purchase these sheets in hopes for comfort and fit to our bed. We were pleased! Then a week after they had been on the bed, I noticed the pillow case and the corner of the fitted sheet had pulled away from their original stitching. It's hard to repair this material. They are of incredibly cheap quality (In hindsight, I should have guessed that with the $30 price tag on King-size sheets). I've worked with fabrics for almost 10 years and I can say that this satin is the lowest quality "costume satin" I have ever seen. The sheets were on the bed for two days (TWO DAYS!) and the corner seams completely frayed apart. There were BIG flaws throughout the fabric, even noticeable to my husbands untrained eye. I undoubtedly regret my purchase and waste of money on this sheet set. I just wanted to share this, because when I bought this item all the reviews were raving...apparently they received items of a different quality...at least I hope so.

I've had plenty of silk sheets in the past, I was so thrilled to find a good set in black that I purchased these immediately. Their not as great as I thought they would be defintley putting the old ones back on.

These sheets are not very comfortable, and they feel very cheap. The seam work on them is terrible and the pillowcases fell apart in the first wash. The fabric is already pilling and I have only had them for 2 weeks. I would not recommend these. They will also stain your mattress and pillow cases even though I washed them before using them.

Okay, it's only a shower caddy, but if you need one, this is the one to buy. Taymor is on the high end of bathroom fixtures, and this item does not disappoint. It is a perfectly nice gift set for a college student. Do not let the "mini" in the title fool you; this is a decent sized caddy that will hold a good sized bar of soap. Although, from the design you can see that it will not take bottles.

Further, the wire is a lot more heavily constructed than I thought it would be. As an alternative use, which is why I bought it, it will work on an outside shower in a pool area. Amazon has been running this for $12.99 including super saver shipping, which is worth it considering the quality and its giftability.

I bought this needing a small shower caddy that wasn't pricy. This one served its purpose and works fine. I do agree with others that you have to balance the weight a bit. My only main complaint is that it is rusting at the joints. Not a big deal I suppose for the price but it is unsightly. I did however find nicer, bigger shower caddys at Marshals that were even less than what I payed. It irritated me. Guess you get what you pay for with this one.

The shower caddy is great and was the main focus of my purchase to I was pleasantly surprised to also receive a pumice stone, nail brush and loufa. The caddy doesn't hang well in the intended bathroom because it has a detachable shower head. It does stay in place, but bring up the angle of the shower head so that's a little annoying.

So far no rust. It serves it's purpose holding a shampoo & conditioner bottle, face wash, shower gel, pumice stone, nail brush and loufa. I try to keep it balanced so it doesn't tip to any particular side. So far so good.

For the price and what you get it's a great buy just be aware that if you have a detachable shower head you may run into the same problem I have. Also if anyone has found a solution to this please share with the rest of us.

After reading mixed reviews I wasn't sure if I should ask for this for Christmas. I had lower back surgery in '11 and was still having lots of pain. Now it looks like I am going to be needing surgery again. So I figured lets see if this helps. I am sure its better than the PVC pipe wrapped in towels that I was using. It really is soft and lightweight. Only downside is that it is a bit short. I feel that my legs to tend to slip off it if I am not careful.

After using this everyday since Christmas, I have noticed a few things. First is that it does have support and is NOT hard at all. The problem I am having is that it is not keeping my legs up high enough and is slowly squishing down as my legs rest on it. At night it is perfect, but if I am using it 24/7 it will not help with the pressure in my back.

This was a fantastic buy ... although was charged an extra £15.91 for customs charge before they would deliver so beware of shipping and handling charge as they don't tell you that you will have to fork out extra cash on it's arrival to the uk!!!

I recently had lower back surgery and my legs ached and the pressure of my low back was unbearable as I lie in bed even with extra pillows under my knees. After reading all of the reviews, I decided to try it out myself. The sheet is reasonable, soft and light, color is not ivory, more beige or naked. For the price, it's a good enough deal. I'd suggest the supplier change the ad here. First it's not 1200 thread count, second it's not Egyptian, third, it's not cotton, I think honest advertisement is just as important as the quality of the product itself.

I can see how the packaging is misleadingit does say "1500 thread count 100% Egyptian Cotton" in huge print on the front. You have to look for the fine print to see "as soft as". Even the item description can be misleading. But honestly, 1500 count Egyptian sheets are $300, you can't expect to get them ANYWHERE for $25, even amazon!!!

Color is as described and the sheets are soft and breathable. I have a very thick mattress and these fit great, not pulling on the sides like I have experienced with other sheets. I have another set of microfiber sheets that were $75 that are softer, but you really can't beat these for the price!

I washed them as soon as I got them. I noticed there is still kinda a funny smell to them (not enough to keep me from sleeping on them tonight), but I will wash a second time in the morning. I also noticed the top sheet is softer than the fitted, not sure why. But it does feel really good to wrap up in the top sheetvery comfortable!

In summary, don't love them as much as my other sheets (but they are deep purple and we just re-did our bedroom so they don't match anymore), but these are definitely comfortable, fit deep mattresses, and absolutely worth the price!

I would highly recommend!

The first week was fine. The second week, after washing, I was very conscious of pilling on the bottom sheet very uncomfortable. After second washing, the bottom sheet became a drop cloth for a painting project.

I had a very bad neck pain that ran down my right arm for two weeks and so I went to a chiropractor who, predictably, told me my neck was in a very bad way, I had herniated discs and that I needed 3 sessions a week at $50 a pop for at least 3 months.

So I got this pillow and I was better within 4 days. It's very comfortable and I now use it as my regular pillow.

The pillow has definitely helped me to sleep longer and more peaceful. It isn't perfect but so much better than a regular style pillow. Best to lay on your back and I do miss sleeping on stomach. Neck ache won't allow it. Good product. Very happy. I feel better and I am a nicer person due to it.

I got one for Christmas last year, 2010. I have very bad Jaw joints & am always looking for a comfortable pillow & one that would help with my morning wake up headaches. I was skeptical, read the reviews good & bad & decided to give it a try. The first few days using it my headaches were worse, but after the 3rd or 4th night...A dream to sleep on. Really has helped, I love it and couldnt sleep without it now.

The only downside is I will need a new one this year, since the V cushion breaks down a little. But the pros far outweigh that & I will be ordering another one this Christmas. Highly recommend, for Jaw joint problems & headaches.

I had surgery on my neck a few years ago for two ruptured disks and I have permanent nerve damage. I always woke up with neck and back pain every morning. I got the pillowcases (2) just before Christmas. Put them on my pillows, and love them. They are smooth, and comfortable. I will love them better in Summer, when cotton pillowcases are warm, and I want a cool pillowcase. I don't have air conditioners, so all I have is a fan in Summer to keep my bedroom cool. The cases will be just great. They also, keep my cheeks from getting those creases that cotton ones give you. Love'em. J.B.
