Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper

I own a Tempurpedic mattress, which is my bed at home. I also own the Sleep Better 2-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen, which I used on top of an Aerobed 18in Raised Queen Premium Guest Bed, Queen and slept on 4 nights per week for a few months to save commuting to San Francisco. I now also own the Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Queen, which I'm using atop a friend's regular mattress that's otherwise like sleeping on a slab of granite.

First off, the foam for the Sleep Better mattress toppers is not the same as the brand name Tempurpedic foam. The Tempurpedic foam is significantly more dense, meaning: 1) it takes a bit longer to respond to your weight / body heat; 2) it gives you significantly more support; and 3) it takes a bit longer to recover when you move.

I actually slightly prefer the 2" topper on the Aerobed to my $1200 Tempurpedic mattress [boy, do I hate to say that!]. The 3" topper on the granite-like mattress is good, but is my least favored combination.

The 3" topper is too soft and too thick. I sink so deeply into it that it's actually some effort to roll over at night. I got used to it after a few nights, and no longer wake up to roll, but I found it annoying. It's certainly not a bad experience. If I hadn't tried the other 2 options, and was only comparing it to sleeping on the granite mattress from h*ll, I would've been thrilled with it. But knowing what the other options are like, it's my least favored of 3 good choices.

The Tempurpedic is a fantastic mattress, and I'll certainly keep it as my primary bed. My only niggling complaint is that, being temperature sensitive, my sleeping experience is different in summer vs. winter. In the hottest month of summer, the mattress is just a bit too soft, and my back isn't optimally supported. In the coldest month of winter, the mattress is a bit too hard. It does soften up after I've been in it for a few minutes, but it's noticeable when you first get in it.

I really like the combination of the Aerobed and the 2" topper. The Aerobed let me adjust the overall firmness of the mattress and provided all the support. But the tufting of the Aerobed results in deep divots in the surface, which are not comfortable. The 2" topper smoothed out the divots and provided excellent cushioning, without being so deep that I sunk into it and lost the mattress's support.

The brand name Tempurpedic products are definitely superior to all competitors I've tried, so if you can afford them, go for it. If not, the Sleep Better products are good options. I recommend the 2" topper over 3". It's more comfortable, cheaper, and your sheets fit more easily.

I purchased this Mattress Topper over a year ago now and I still love it. It is very soft and adds the right amount of support for my aching back. Two things I am not happy about; the first is when you unroll it from the box it comes in; it has a terrible chemical odor. It does fade in about 3 weeks but can be strong for people with sensitivity to smells. It did fade and I would recommend dealing with it if you can. The second problem which isn't a real biggie is the color of the foam starts to turn yellow over time. Now, I don't know if it's because I sleep with an electric blanket all the time and it is adding to the color change but it is happening. But who really cares if it's being covered with sheets and blankets anyway right?

Over all I am very happy with the added comfort and for the price it is so worth it. Getting cozy in a warm foamy bed...ahhh nothing better.

This is definitely my best purchase of 2005! I only wish I had purchased this sooner. I now get the best sleep of my life, I no longer suffer from hip pain in the a.m. and I feel warm and comfortable like I'm in a cocoon. One of the biggest complaints of memory foam is that it DOES absorb your body heat, which means you will be warmer when you sleep on this rather than directly on your mattress. I live in Florida, so that just means adjusting my thermostat and using a ceiling fan. It is a bit warmer, but not to the point where you sweat. It DOES smell of chemicals when you first open it. Just let it sit out for a day or two until the chemical smell disappears. That happens with all memory foam mattress toppers. This one IS about 1-2" short, but do your feet need memory foam? Do your feet extend to the very tip of your bed? Mine don't... the missing inch or two just means your sheets fit better. Best of all, this memory foam topper is not an environment where dust mites (or bed bugs) can live so it WILL help allergy sufferers greatly! I would especially recommend this to anyone on bed rest, anyone in the hospital, elderly people (they tend to have joint problems), allergy suffers, those with asthma, and ANYONE wanting the best nights sleep of their life! This mattress topper will improve any mattress and I cannot imagine not having it. I will be buying one for each of my children this month as I am finally convinced of the benefits of memory foam!

This made our king bed feel very much like a thermarest mattress. It is very comfortable and we are glad we went with at least 3 inches. The biggest problem is that the pad is rolled up for shipping and this hurts the shape of the pad. It does not fully reach the sides of our mattress. Although it has stretched out more over the past couple of weeks, it is still coming up short. Since we don't sleep on the edges, it doesn't affect the performance but my wife doesn't like how it looks.

I am pleased with the addition of this memory foam mattress to my bed. You sink (only slightly) into bed and it feels very comfortable. Other complaints on this page are valid it does stink (though it goes away after a couple days) and it is a bit short (which does help the sheets fit better). I'd say for the price it is one of the best deals out there.

Don't know what kind of pillows previous reviewers were filling, but any kind of serious stuff requires a lot more product.

I've been sleeping on a Sobakawa for years now. Not only does it offer better support around the neck area, your pillow doesn't get hot as the buckwheat hull doesn't retain heat. With that said, I finally got smart and made my own pillow versus buying the dinky ones that they sell at outrageous prices!

I looked around and just couldn't beat this price for a 'natural latex pillow' using the Dunlop process (from what I read the Dunlop part seemd important). My wife has had a similar pillow for years and I really like it so I was trying to find something comparable without spending $100 like she had.

I bought this totally prepared to send it back. It's less than half of what she paid. And, I figured if it's even close it's a deal. And, yes, it's a deal.

It feels just like the more expensive one with one exception. I wish it was 1/2 to 1-inch thicker. So, I should have bought the Queen or King version. Oh well I'll likely just buy another in a month or two this one is so close it's hard to even notice except that I've used hers and it's right next to mine so too easy to compare.

What I did do which helps a bit and makes them almost identical:

Put the pillow inside another pillow protector in addition to the organic one it comes with. This tightens or squeezes it a bit and now feels like it's a little higher. But, this could just be my imagination too. It's so close.

I recommend and should mention that I absolutely only use firm pillows so if this didn't cut it, I would have sent it right back. And, I go through pillows, the firms ones too, in about 3-6 months. In that time, they tend to compress too much. This is one of the reasons I wanted to buy a latex pillow I've heard they don't compress over time. So, we'll see about that and I'll update my review in six months or so.

I have long term neck issues, making me a sampler of every kind of pillow. I have now figured out the pillow conundrum. The neck must remain in a neutral position (in lordosis curve and midline) throughout the night to not cause imbalance and stress. This can easily be done with a block of wood ... cut the right thickness to keep the head straight. But, as you can imagine, no one could tolerate the hardness on the head. So, now we need to make the pillow soft for the head without compromising the support .... and here is where the trouble begins. Almost every "soft" pillow compresses way too much allowing the head to bend toward the bed. Manufacturers compensate by making the pillow too thick (bending the head up) or too hard (making it uncomfortable).

This, organic latex, pillow seems to be a good compromise. I think it should be 1-1 1/2" thicker, but it is soft (feels like your head is floating), and compresses only a bit. There is a mild latex smell out of the box (not too bad). I am enjoying its use, now we will see how long it lasts ... as the foam pillows including the top, expensive brands you all know, soften within 30 days.

I'll update when/if things change.

I've bought both the queen and twin size versions of this product, and they feel quite different, due to being made differently.

The queen size is what I'd consider normal height, with the twin being noticeably lower (about 33%). In addition, opening the pillow case reveals that the queen has more/smaller holes, whereas the twin has fewer/larger holes. I'm not sure why this is, but combined with the difference in height, they feel quite different. If you like a firmer/lower pillow, the twin may be for you. I don't mind having the twins, for varieties sake/living room use, but the queens are what I sleep on.

I don't know if one is better than the other, but my preference leads me to give the queen size a solid 5 stars, and the twin 3 stars. I'm using the Pinzon king size cases with the queen pillows, and the pillow ends around the stitch pattern, so I just fold the rest underneath.

Intex Pillow Rest Classic Twin Airbed Kit

We purchased an Intex airbed for Christmas -our teenage son would rather lay on it in our TV room than sit on the couch. Unfortunately, one of the seams popped open after only a couple of months and it had to be replaced. It was still holding air, but there was a large bulge on one side of the bed making it unusable. We purchased another Intex-brand airbed many years ago that we used often without any problems, so we've had good luck with this brand before. This one just didn't hold up. ...I Love My Little Bed!

Actually, at first, I hated it. I put it on a box spring and it was so uncomfortable, that I put it back in the box to return.

After a few days, I decided to try it on the floor. What a difference! So, I built a raised platform for the mattress and have loved it ever since! (Not to mention the extra storage I now have under my bed) I have slept on it every night for the past 6 months with no issues.

I weigh around 130 lbs and only sleep/read in bed, so not sure how well it would work for 'extra-curricular' activities. It would probably feel just as sturdy/comfy for someone up to around 180 lbs or so, I think.

Pros:

Easily inflates with built-in pump. Cord hides away in bed.

Lightweight, making it easy to make up or move. (Be sure to get extra long, deep pocket sheets for the best fit)

If not using full time, deflates quickly and stores in included bag.

Holds air well...I've only 'touched up' the air twice in 6 months of regular use.

Comfortable and adjustable. Plus, if you don't like the 'built in' pillow for your head, just use the other end and give your feet the lift.

Cons:

None, really. Other than the fact that it MUST be on a firm surface, I would say that the 'lock' to deflate it could be designed a little better. I'm sometimes concerned that it might turn accidentally and deflate while I'm sleeping, although it hasn't. Still, I'd like to see an improvement there.

All in all, as a replacement for my king-size memory bed, which I loved, it's been a space-saving, comfortable, inexpensive alternative. I'd hate to give it up!

I purchased this for a family member and ordered a King for a Queen size bed. This was shipped fast and the company had it packaged in a super thick plastic bedspread bag with handles for extra protection. Im unsure if this was an error by the company but I expected to receive JUST a comforter and also received the sheet set with it. I was able to adjust the king with a few stitches to fit a queen appropriately. The material is much better quality than I expected. It has a medium level of filling and after washing it did not bunch up on the inside at all. I let it drip dry and tossed it in the dryer with a few dryer sheets for ten minutes to get the wrinkles out. This also was fine, did not damaged or alter the comforter in any way. This set is light enough for the summer with a thin sheet under it but is defintely thick enough with a winter type blanket or electric blanket under it during the winter months. I couldnt be happier with this purchase. Also wanted to note: The king size sheet set comes with 4 king size pillow covers. I took the seaming out of 2 of them and made them into window toppers. The pillowcase was actually several inches longer than the window. If your considering buying this set, I would defintely recommend it.

To tell the truth, I'm not in position to rate this product since I'm returning it without using it. The box came in at 23 lbs according to DHL. It should've been 38 lbs if it was 5.5 lbs/cf. I called All Sleep, and they said 5.5 is their own softness rating, not the standard lbs/cf density measure like tempurpedic 5.5, or standard ILD softness measure. (At the weight of 23 lbs, it's more like 3 lbs/cf, which is about the same what you get from places like costco). They agreed give me the full refund since I felt misled, so I'm not complaining. Just be aware that 5.5 does not mean 5.5 lbs/cf, and enjoy it if you like the softness. (5.5 is their softest topper).

I am always suspicious of anything with excellent claims. I was pleasently surprised with this product. The support for all points on the body is excellent. 3 inches is plenty of cusion for this. It breathes well and does not radiate body heat to make you sweat.

I no longer have the aches and sore places while in bed or when I wake up. While this is not a magic cure for insomnia, you will indeed be pleased with this. I have found that it works best when you flip or rotate this once a month.

The mattress pad comes essentially shrunk wrapped, but once opened up quickly expands to its full size. Some customers have complained of an unpleasant factory smell. For the first several days, there is a scent, but I did not find it unpleasant and it was not much different from the scent one finds in buying plastic products at the store--e.g. air mattress. The mattress pad also comes with a memory foam pillow, contoured for the nestling of neck and head. Sheets are not included. Without sheets, the foam has an almost adhesive texture (not actually sticky, but reminds you of that feeling), so I personally use cover sheets and pillowcase.

How does the bed work for the back? It did not cure my back problems, but I do notice the absence of pains I had when using a regular mattress. My sleep is definitely improved, and the mattress seems to minimize resistance pressure on my body, for in the morning I feel too comfortable to get up!

I have owned my memory foam mattress and pillow for about a year now, and it still is holding up fairly well. The foam itself still maintains its basic shape. I thought the foam might collapse within a few months, but it has held rather strong. The mattress surface has yellowed somewhat, which I thought might happen, but since I use mattress covers this is has not been a major concern for me. A few areas along the edge show mild wear and tear. Be careful not to put heavy material objects on the mattress, especially along the edge, since it may tear a small piece from the mattress. The foam is much stronger than styrofoam, but it still is susceptible to ripping.

For the price, this memory foam mattress is definitely worth the purchase, and were I to buy another memory foam mattress, I likely would choose the same brand. This mattress is 3 inch in thickness. There are thicknesses thinner and wider. I notice from other reviews that some customers prefer the harder (thinner) mattress while others prefer the softer (thicker) mattress. If you are looking for a memory foam mattress, it may be in your interest to test, if possible, different foam mattress thicknesses before committing to purchase.

But a word of warning ....head the measurements. It is very large. But yet very soft and angled so it you won't wake with a cramped neck.

I got this pillow almost a year ago at the beginning of my pregnancy. I am still using it for both sleeping and nursing. Also you can't beat the convenience of being able to prop it up against the headboard for nursing, reading or just lounging. This body pillow is nice if you are looking for something with a lot of cushion. I couldn't sleep with it because it just had too much! I couldn't maneuver it because it was just too filled and would always return to being fully straight. If I tucked it under my legs the head part would come out and when I tried to have it under my head it was a real struggle to keep it between my legs! The middle was also bigger then the rest which made it impossible for me to rest my tummy against comfortably. I was really hoping to find a body pillow for my pregnancy support but ended up just using a regular pillow. It is great when you sit with it behind you in bed, which will come in handy when I am feeding the new baby. You can tie the two ends together which I thought would be helpful but I wont be able to use it to feed the baby because there is always a space between the two arms where you tie it. I just got myself a boppy pillow to rest the baby against and will use this as my back support. It is long enough that my husband and I can sit with it behind us together in bed.

Don't buy if you don't have space to store it. It is very large and very plush. We have difficulty knowing what to do with it when not in use. I have had it for 5 months now and it shows no signs of breaking in.

This pillow is fairly soft, has a removable cover and is comfortable when used in the right way.

Seven Comforts Premium Latex Foam Bed Pillow (King)

If you sleep on it wrong, you will wake up in the morning with a very stiff neck. My husband sleeps on his side and will sometimes put the pillow between his legs. My only recomendation for use of this pillow. I have put them in the guest room and bought other pillows.

HEAVY and lumpy. Terrible terrible pillow. I laid on it and felt like I was gonna get a headache within 5 minutes. Immediately took off the pillow case and decided I wanted to return it. Don't buy this pillow!

J-Life Buckwheat Hull Pillow - Japanese Soba Gara Makura - Rectangular 13" x 18"

I love my new pillow and neck roll (I got one of each) -they're awesome! I'm getting used to their firmness and the hull sounds.

I previously used the Peace Pillow (not sold on Amazon, just at peacepillow), which has a built-in neck bolster but unfortunately doesn't come in a small size. I like having neck support, so now I'm using the J-Life buckwheat neck roll AND pillow together, which seems to work well. For me, the size and style of the items is absolutely perfect. Plus, they're organic and allergen free.

They're precisely as I expected, with one exception. I've noticed that many otherwise inferior competing products (like those from Bucky) have an inner zip lining to contain the hulls, which helps simplify cleaning the outer case/cover, protect the hulls, and buffer the noise they make when the sleeper shifts. I was surprised that J-Life products lack that convenient feature given their quality.

In any event, this is a minor thing, and I'm still thrilled with my purchase -and to support Japanese business in the wake of the triple tragedy.

The pillow was super stuffed; I doubt any more hulls could have been crammed into it. Perhaps this is to allow for eventual compression of the hulls. In any case, because I'm petite, I had to remove about 2/3 of the buckwheat hulls before it seemed right for me, and I think that even after the remaining ones compress and I add some back to readjust it, I'll have enough for two pillows, which would be useful. So, I asked J-Life if I can buy another case/cover only; I expect it would be around the same cost as another pillow, though.

This is a great pillow and the workmanship is good. The pillow cover is especially nice. It was full of buckwheat hulls and I emptied out about half to get the right feel. Overall, it's a bit expensive but I'm happy with the purchase.

Disney Cars Pillow Sham in Black

I wish so badly that this sham looked like it did in the picture. The colors are definitely not as vibrant as they appear to be on Lightning McQueen and the writing. He is more of a rusty orange instead of a vibrant red on this sham. Since I'm using it with other truly red items it should blend well so I'll keep it.

Super cute but the lightning image on the front is super faded looking and seems like its rubbing off, havn't even washed it yet?

I accidentally torn it when I put it onto the mattress. It is pretty fragile along the seam. so be careful with it.
