ITALIAN 1200 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton Duvet Cover Set , Queen, White , Made in ITALY

I initially purchased this duvet set believing that this would be of a superior quality 1200 thread count set. However, upon receiving the set, I realized the quality was even worse (rougher and thinner) than my 200 thread count set, and so I decided to do a little research on my own.

Thread count is a technical term that stands for the number of threads woven together in a square inch. For example, 100 lengthwise threads woven with 100 widthwise threads produce a thread count of 200. Usually, anything above 200 thread counts is considered a better quality product.

According to Consumer Reports, a thread count of 200 is fine; 400 may be softer. But counts such as 800 or 1200 are not quite possible. When a manufacturer claims a super high thread count, such as 1200 thread count (that is, fitting 1200 threads together within 1 square inch), they count not just each thread, but each fiber that make up each thread. Using creative counting methods, a 200 thread count set suddenly becomes a 1200 thread count set. This is technically illegal, since thread count in the US must follow strict federal standards. In fact, Bed, Bath & Beyond was investigated by the Federal Trade Commission for misrepresenting thread count and eventually settled the lawsuit in 2008 by offering refunds to customers.

Back to this particular item. This set is certainly not 1200 thread count and probably just barely under 200 thread count since it's even rougher than my set from IKEA. The set has no labels or care instructions. Therefore, the item probably wasn't properly imported into the US. Hope this review helps.

I ordered one duvet a month ago. I liked the duvet and decided to order another one. To my surprise, I received a different product this time. The quality of this duvet does not like 1200 thread count. It might be OK to use, but I start to question their services and honesty now.

I got this thinking that I was going to get a shiny, silky looking (like shown on the photo) Duvet cover. In reality the material is dull and I do not believe for a second that this is 1200 thread count. As for saving over $300, in reality it should say we are extorting you by 300% +. It's crap. It is like cheap sheets they use in hospitals. So if you want to relive bad hospital experiences, then this is for you.

Oh and for the record. This premium sheet set does not even have a label of any kind on it, let alone washing instructions (High end stuff does)

I'm not sure if I received the same 1200 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton Duvet as the others with 4 and 5 star reviews. The one I got is more like 250 thread count, and question if 100% egyptian cotton. I wanted to replace an Ikea duvet cover with a nicer one but they are the same quality and feel.

I bought the duvet cover after reading all the great reviews, it arrived quickly and the cover looked nice in the package--except that it looked completely different from the one shown in picture (patterned rather than solid white), and right out of the bag it had the strange 'powdery' feeling to it that usually indicates a cheap sheet/cover. I thought the problem would be gone after washing but it got worse, the powdery feeling was still there and it also became very rough and scratchy, which made me doubt if it was really made from egyptian cotton. Does not worth $70.

When arrived these pillowcases are not sateen finish. There is a pattern woven in the fabric that makes them very scratchy, they do not feel good at all. I have washed them twice and still awful. For 800 thread count fabric, these just will not do. Will have to send back.

These were rough, not soft, itchy, a total waste of money. Keep looking if you want good quality. I'll probably only buy bedding in person from now on.

These are all cotton, which is the 1st thing I look for, but the plaid design is raised, and while it looks pretty, it feels prickly, and I can't use them on my regular pillows. I'm not sure why they feel that way, but even after washing several times I don't like the way they feel.

I ordered this pillow with the belief that it was of soft textured materials only, come to find out that there was not very much shag and it is not on both sides which i was hoping for..they should show a picture of the back of the pillow as well as the front because i was under the impression that it was shaggy on the front and back.

I LOVE this pillow. It is shag with part of the shag like eyelash fringe mixed with narrow fabric strings. Incoporated into the eyelash fringe are tiny sparklies that dance when the light hits them.

It is a bright lime green that goes great with a medium aqua. It will certainly brighten your room. It appears to be a very well made pillow. I would use it in any room in my house.

I have never written a review for a product before, but this pillow is such a waste of money that I had to let others know. I was having trouble sleeping on my side (as recommended in pregnancy), so I ordered this pillow. It is the most uncomfortable and bulky pillow imaginable. The size is insane to try to sleep with (never mind getting out of bed with it there). The velcro that puts the two pillows together rubbed my skin all night. After sleeping with this pillow for 2 nights, my back ached miserably and I am so overtired. I tried to make it work because I spent 72 dollars on it (after 2 day shipping), but I threw it out of bed last night at 3:00 AM after waking up with an aching back and a velcro scratch from this "pillow." the pillows are really big, i have a cal king bed and the pillows took up more than half of the bed, leaving my poor husband squished off to the side and practically falling off the bed. the fabric on the pillow covers had already started to pill before I had even used it. was not impressed and returned the pillow.

I got a damaged set which was replaced very quickly. I was a little worried that they were not thick enough but now having used them for two months I find they are just right. I am very impressed with the quality and service of this company and their sheets. I have laundered them six or seven times and they are holding up very well with little to no lint in the dryer screen (shows they are not disintegrating) and no wear showing. I wash with a bit of bleach and they have not faded either. The only thing I can complain about is that the top sheet could be made just a bit longer for thick mattresses another six inches and this would be the perfect set of sheets as it is they are excellent. When the first set showed up with a cut in the packaging and sheets (someone had gotten a little overzealous with a boxcutter evidently) I contacted the company and was immediately sent a new set. It is made to lay flat across the window as the heaviness of the material keeps it from hanging well as a gathered valace (although I bought 4 and use them gathered, which still look fine). Reading Wedge Pillow - Two Fills To Choose From

Heavier than I expected which is good as it will stay in place. I used a pair of pillowcases as a cover stuffing each end into a pillowcase they overlap well and are tight enough not to slide around. Plus, the edge of the outer pillowcase makes a good place to grab and carry. This is not going to work as well on my bookcase headboard waterbed with "full slosh" mattress but is perfect on the sofa and should be wonderful on a regular bed.

The reading wedge pillow is heavy enough to feel substantial and and provide excellent support but has enough squish to be very comfortable. Hesitated before spending this much on a reading wedge but but feel it's worth the money.

Note: It might work ok on the waterbed if I had a supportive headboard instead of the open shelf of the book shelf. Sometime I may try filling the shelf with boxes or large books for the pillow to rest against.

My husband has acid reflux and can't sleep flat so I purchased a foam wedge pillow for him. The first one we tried was one of those foam triangular ones the tallest one they sell I think was 11''. It was like a rock and way too high to sleep on however, we did find other more creative uses for that one tee he! Then he tried the lowest 7'' foam wedge which was not a bad height for reflux but still way to hard to sleep on and both gave him terrible neck pain because they push your head a bit forward. So much for foam wedge pillows for acid reflux!

This one was perfect! We got the feather one. It is very soft and provides just enough lift. You do smoosh down into it but it still lifts you up just enough without the hard rigidness of the foam wedges. Your head and neck are softly cradled without pushing your head forward like the rigid wedges. This worked great for my husband, I like it too and am considering getting a second one. I would recommend this especially if you hate the foam wedge you just spent over 40 dollars for. This is a great pillow!

This product is very cheaply made. The pillows do not lay nicely they are all floppy not crisp as shown in picture. The Queen size comforter is not long enough to pull all the way to top of bed without showing bed skirt and there are weird sewing lines in a couple of places on comforter as well as the stuffing inside of comforter lumps at bottom of bed where it hangs above the bed skirt. Very CHEAPLY made.

I've sworn by my Bucky pillow for about a decade, but over the past couple of years, I've been waking up with my ears hurting. I suppose that's an indication to replace the buckwheat. Before replacing it, I checked to see if there were something new and improved. The reviews for this pillow were very good and the price was great. I also liked the idea of a normal-sized pillow on my bed instead of the half-sized Bucky.

(Bonus: It arrived packed in paper in a huge box that my cats think is the greatest new bed.)

I expected a smell, but there was none.

I put my standard-size pillow case on it and it fits fine. I think it's meant for a queen case, but it fills the standard case just fine.

When I'm sleeping on my side, I want the pillow to hold my head up, but not poke my neck. That's what I liked about the Bucky--I could shape it to support just the right places and not touch others and it would stay that way. This pillow does what I want without me having to shape it. I lay my head on the gel side, and it's like a cloud, but with a lot of support. Sometimes I sleep on my stomach, and this seems to support my head just right for that, too. My neck and ears feel just fine in the morning.

I have arthritis in my neck so I buy a new pillow every few months. When I saw this pillow on Amazon I decided to try it since it was so reasonably priced and I had never tried the gel ones. Boy! It is excellent to sleep on. I sleep on my side and it has good body but is still soft. I like the fact you can alternate sides and get a little more firmness with the memory foam. Another plus was I have allergies to regular down, though I love the way they feel and this one feels like down. I would highly recommend this pillow.

Just got my pillows in today and I LOVE THEM! I bought 2.. one for me & one for my husband. 9/27/11 UPDATE: The price really fluctuated on this product over the past year, but $20 seems about right, so I'm pushing it back up to five stars. I've been using the pillows for nearly a year now and they are still in great condition the memory foam has flattened a bit, but its still effective. I don't think I'll need to replace these for at least another year, although at this price, I'm a little tempted to. With the foam-less alternative only $4 cheaper, I'd say price is a non-issue when comparing the two, considering it'll last you a couple years.

3/4/11 UPDATE: It seems they've corrected the title to accurately describe the gel microfibers, but the price has gotten a little too steep so I'll dock a star. The pillow without the memory foam is less than half the price, which seems a bit odd when you consider there are pillows that are completely made of memory foam (albeit cheaply made!) which sell for $20. However, after a bit of use (and some abuse) pillows are still going strong and have flattened very little if at all.

I just got this pillow and I'm fairly impressed with the product, especially at the price I had bought it ($14). At this price, I would still say it's a decent buy. The memory foam layer, even though it's rather thin, not any more than an inch, still adds a nice touch to the pillow, and you can definitely tell which side its on. When you lie down on it you can really feel your head sink comfortably in to the pillow.

I don't know why this is labeled gel-filled pillow, which seems to deceive a person into thinking that the pillow itself is filled with some gel-like substance, when really it's the microfibers that are filled with gel. The microfibers themselves are actually a better alternative to down feathers. I only learned that from reading the description.

It also comes with it's own little travelling case.

Finding that the price has significantly increased, I'd like to recommend this pillow:

Home Source 100% Rayon Derived from Bamboo Standard Pillowcase Pair, Silver Birch

I'm never going back to cotton sheets and pillowcases! This rayon (from bamboo) seems to draw your body heat away, so you always stay cool. So this is perfect for the hottest of climates. I even prefer these in the coldest of winter. Just use a blanket when it's cold and you'll be just as good as if you used flannel. Whether you want to be cool or warm, at least you'll always feel dry with them over your pillows. And they just feel much more softer than any other material out there.

The only drawback (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) is that if you don't fold them right after the dryer finishes (before they cool down), they get wrinkled. I always put them right back on the pillows, but you still have to take them right out after the dryer cycle completes because you'll see where it was wrinkled if it cools before they're back on.

Also, make sure to fluff the pillows right when you get out of bad or they'll wrinkle where your head stretched it out. Drying them on low will get the wrinkles out anyway if you don't, but remember what I said above about leaving them in the dryer.

Caveat: Rayon from bamboo is misleading. By the time the bamboo fiber is processed into the rayon, there's virtually nothing natural about it left (due to the processing). So possibly even rayon from man-made fiber would also suffice.

Brentwood 13 by 20-Inch Fine Art Tapestry, Palm Hammock

The Brentwood Palm Hammock pillow will look great on a leather couch or chair. The hammock and palm fronds are very detailed and the colors are beautiful. I was very pleased with how this looked in my living room. It says Daydream on the bottom in thread the same color as the hammock so it is barely noticeable but relaxing when you do notice it.

I was greatly surprised at how nice this pillow is for the price! I would have paid double that amount!

This is the best pillow I have ever owned. I change positions frequently in the night and have a hard time finding a pillow that adjusts positions with me. This pillow is just that pillow. With the two sides providing either firm or softer support I am able to find the support I need to be comfortable in any position that I find myself in in the night. I love this pillow. I just wish I'd found it sooner!

I was very hesitant to buy this pillow at first. I have had bad experiences with purchasing pillows that didn't fit my needs, others that didn't last long, and others that ended up spraining my neck instead. I often have shoulder and/or neck problems since that is where I carry my stress. Oftentimes I would wake up with a stiff neck or sleep wrong where I would have soreness and tightness all the time. To complicate things, I am a tosser and will sleep on my back and on my side, flipping during the night. I also like to be able to snuggle into one end of the pillow in order to help me fall asleep.

I decided to try this concave foam pillow from Sleep Number and ended up waking up with a sprained neck. I returned it for one of their Medium firm pillows, which gave me the results I wanted. However, that pillow ended up getting worn out and I didn't feel like spending $60+ on replacing it. So I decided to try this memory foam pillow.

I have to say, it was pretty high when I first got it. And it does have that typical smell that memory foam pillows usually have when it is new. But after a few weeks of using it, it started to sink in a little more in height and the smell started to fade. Now it's soft enough that I can snuggle into the corners but not flat enough that it's lot it's function. And the soft cover makes it even nicer to snuggle with it. Hoping it will last longer than the other pillow but will definitely consider ordering it again in the future when it does.

About 5 years ago, I herniated 3 discs in my neck and it's been just about impossible to find a pillow that supports my neck properly during the night. Most days, I wake up with some degree of neck discomfort, ranging from a little stiffness to out and out pain that requires medication and muscle relaxers. I've been through at LEAST 20 pillows and three mattresses in search of something that works. This pillow is unbelievably perfect. I haven't had severe pain since I got it and many days I don't even notice any neck discomfort, which hasn't happened in years. The pillow keeps my neck aligned at night. I'm a side sleeper, 5'5" female of average weight. The pillow doesn't allow my head to sink too low and doesn't prop it up too high. Plus, you can turn it to the latex side if you prefer a softer feel against your head/face. I like the firmer memory foam side, myself. All in all, a great product at an EXCELLENT price.

The pillow was a bit firm for my taste when I first got it. So I stacked some books on it for 4 days and now its perfect. There is a scent to the pillow as previously stated. It's not overwelming. You know its there, but its not headache inducing. Since I've been using it, I don't have any neck or back pain.

I had to return this. I couldn't sleep on it. I tend to sleep on my side or on my stomach. On my side, it was ok but it is not possible to sleep on this pillow when on your stomach because it is too tall and stiff. I really wanted to love this pillow.

This is a beautifully made futon cover, It looks great, It fits great. I live in San Francisco and have sort of a chinese motive in my room, the fabric is thick and looks a lot more expensive, I was very impressed. It comes with two real decorative pillows not just the pillow cases.FANTASTIC!
